The Microtubes 500v2 is a 500-watt amp that features an all-analog preamp, Darkglass's new high-performance Class-D power amp, and a digital impulse-response emulator for the DI output or headphones.

The First Thing You'll Probably Notice About the Microtubes 500 v2 Is the Unusual Control Layout:

On the right side is the clean section, the foundation of your sound. It provides a master volume control and an active 6-band EQ. In addition to the standard low and treble controls, you'll find sliders for 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1.5 kHz and 3 kHz. Those four dedicated mid controls give you full command over the amp's character.

On the left side, next to the input jack, sits the Microtubes Engine, which functions as an extra channel. It elevates your clean sound to the next level, adding everything from subtle tube break-up, harmonics and natural compression to full-on, aggressive distortion.

The Microtubes Engine can be controlled from the front panel or via its own (optional) digitally controlled intelligent footswitch, housed in an elegant, laser-engraved unibody enclosure.

A highly requested new feature is the cabinet simulation, based on an improved version of the Cab Sim module. The module has three slots for high-resolution impulse responses, active for both the headphone output and the balanced XLR DI output.
