A compact piano with the sound and features to meet the needs of advanced players!
Yamaha's P Series digital pianos are highly valued by piano players around the world who are looking for the comfortable playing feel of an acoustic piano in an instrument with compact size and weight.
Compared to its predecessor, the P-225 is significantly shorter and slimmer, and also has a compact design. It looks elegant from every angle and enhances any room. For its space-saving cabinet, we developed the new 88-key GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard, built to exacting standards. It offers the same weighted, piano-like playing feel as the GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keyboard used in earlier P Series models.
The P-225 features the sound of Yamaha's flagship concert grand, the CFX. It uses Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite technology to reproduce the expressive, nuanced tonal changes of a real grand piano. Whether you are an advanced pianist or an enthusiastic beginner looking to learn piano, the P-225 is the perfect choice.
The newly developed GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard offers an exceptionally realistic playing feel
One of the main concerns for piano players when buying a digital piano is the feel of the keyboard.
Piano players consider, among other things, whether they can feel the counterweight of the keys in their fingers, as with the action of an acoustic piano; whether the keyboard responds precisely when playing faster passages; whether there is a mismatch between the force of the touch and the resulting sound; and whether the keyboard offers an appropriate dynamic range from quiet to loud.
The GHS keyboard previously used in the P Series received tremendous praise from customers for its excellent balance and the easy playability mentioned above.
The newly developed, more compact GHC keyboard in the new P Series is every bit as comfortable to play as its predecessors. In addition, the keyboard is more compact than those in previous models while still offering an excellent playing feel.

The sound of Yamaha’s high-end concert grand, the CFX
This model The P-225 offers the sound of Yamaha's first-class CFX concert grand, with brilliant highs and powerful lows. This model features Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite technology, which realistically reproduces the complex resonances produced by a grand piano's strings, changing each time depending on how the keys are played. With the P-225, you can enjoy the sound of a concert grand played and loved by renowned pianists, along with its infinitely realistic resonances. Of course, this instrument does not need tuning.the sound of a full Yamaha concert grand, the CFIIIS. This is the source of Yamaha's first-class concert grand, the CFX.
Place the instrument wherever you like, or simply take it with you.
One thing that bothers pianists is that a traditional piano is often too large for many spaces. In addition, piano players cannot take their instruments with them. The P-225 offers a solution to these problems. Its stylish design blends beautifully into any room and is available in black or white. With the optional soft case, you can take this instrument to the studio, to live performances or on trips - whenever you need it.

24 voices
The P-225 features 24 voices. In addition to several grand piano sounds, including Yamaha's first-class CFX concert grand, you can choose from a wide selection of highly useful keyboard sounds, including Stage E.Piano, DX E.Piano, Jazz Organ, Strings and more. The P-225 also features E.Clavichord and Vibraphone sounds.
Songs
The P-225 comes with 71 preinstalled songs, including 21 demo songs suitable for each voice, such as grand piano, electric piano, various organs, harpsichord, including jazz organ, E.Clavichord, vibraphone, etc. We recommend listening to these demo songs, which cover a variety of styles, from simple classical pieces to Baroque masterpieces, R&B, pop music and more. This will give you an idea of the ways the P-225 can support your musical expression.
Whenever and as often as you like
One of the greatest advantages of a digital piano is that you can practice without disturbing anyone, listening to your playing only through headphones. This also prevents the volume from bothering family members or neighbors.
Recording, metronome and rhythm functions for more enjoyable and effective piano practice
If you want to listen to your playing objectively or practice the right hand together with the left hand, the recording function is just what you need. We also recommend using the metronome when you want to practice at a steady tempo. If you don't want to play alone, rhythm accompaniment is also available in styles such as rock, pop, jazz and bossa nova. This is also a great way to learn the rhythms of different styles.

Play music through the internal speakers with Bluetooth® Audio
The P-225 has a built-in Bluetooth® audio function that lets you pair the instrument with your Bluetooth®-enabled smartphone or tablet and listen to your favorite music through the instrument's speakers. You can play along on the instrument at the same time. No external adapter is required.
Sound Boost function to amplify the instrument’s sound
Have you ever felt during a band rehearsal that the other instruments were overpowering your sound and burying it in the mix? Don't worry, the P-225 is equipped with a Sound Boost function that switches to a punchy, powerful sound in situations like these. The P-225 offers new ways to enhance the instrument's sound while playing and recording, as audio is played back on your smart device. Use these functions when recording with Yamaha's Smart Pianist app or via Rec'n Share.
Stereophonic Optimizer
With the Stereophonic Optimizer, you can enjoy the sound through headphones as if you were sitting in front of an acoustic piano. Thanks to the Stereophonic Optimizer, the sampled sounds of the acoustic piano seem to come directly from the instrument's body. This creates a pleasant, natural sound experience and makes you forget all the unwanted effects of headphones.

Convenient access to the instrument’s functions via the app
When you connect the P-225 to the Yamaha Smart Pianist app, you can intuitively control all its functions from your smart device's screen. There's no longer any need to leaf through the manual to find out how different operations work.
*When connecting your smart device to a musical instrument to use the app, you can either use a cable or establish a wireless connection using the Yamaha UD-BT01 (sold separately; iOS only).
Minimalist design inspired by a grand piano
The design of the P-225 pays homage to the classic aesthetic of a grand piano. It blends harmoniously into any home decor and is designed to make the player feel as if they are playing a grand piano.

A user interface that is easy for anyone to use
This model uses physical buttons instead of a touch panel, making the most important functions easy for anyone to operate. In addition to piano sounds, we selected only the most commonly used sounds, including sounds for keyboard instruments such as electric piano and harpsichord, as well as strings.

Two-way speaker system for room-filling sound
The position and angle of the P-225's speakers have been designed to reproduce as accurately as possible the sound reflected by the soundboard and lid of an acoustic grand piano. This placement gives the player a pleasant listening experience when the P-225 is placed against a wall. This instrument is also equipped with Tone Escapement technology to make the sound clearer and easier to hear, providing the player with the best acoustic balance. In addition to speakers that deliver brilliant, clear mid and high frequencies and pronounced bass, the P-225 is also equipped with tweeters that produce excellent high frequencies.

Practice with 303 classical music pieces
The Smart Pianist app mentioned above includes PDF sheet music for 303 classical pieces for practice, such as Bayer, Burgmüller, Czerny, Hanon and more, which you can view and use on your smart device's screen.

A sound that remains clear and distinct across the entire frequency range, even at low volume.
Have you ever turned down the volume so as not to disturb those around you, only to find that the sound became unbalanced and playing was less enjoyable? The P Series features Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC), which automatically adjusts sound quality to your volume settings. This technology makes it easier to hear the nuances of the sound by slightly boosting the highs and lows to compensate for the human ear, which generally has difficulty distinguishing the high and low ranges at low volumes. The new P-225 now offers this function when using headphones, too. This helps protect your ears, so you can play comfortably even when practicing with headphones for extended periods.

Easily record videos and music and share them online
If you want to record a video of your performance and share it on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, etc., Rec'n'Share is the solution. Connect the P-225 to your smart device and record video and audio at the same time to complete your video. (*A wired connection is required. Make sure to buy the right cable for your smart device.)

Dedicated transport bag
If you want to take your piano on trips, to live performances or to work, the purpose-made bag (SC-KB851) is available as an optional accessory. This bag protects your instrument during transport.

1. it should be a little easier to use (the P-145 probably has more functions accessible only by keyboard),
2. the bass reproduction of the built-in speakers is said to be slightly better,
3. it has a line out (and 2 headphone outputs) which is useful if it is connected to a stereo system, for example,
4. it can play 192 instead of 64 tones simultaneously (polyphony),
5. it is available in white (fits better with our interior),
6. it probably has a wider music rest,
7. it has a few other extras such as slightly better sound processing, more sounds, split function, ...
I decided against products from other manufacturers because either the price-performance ratio was worse (Kawai / Roland) or because the quality seemed worse to me (Casio).
My expectations were fully met. I am very satisfied with the instrument. I have since purchased the stand and the pedal unit. I am also very satisfied with these.
