Brass Sound in Bold Colors!
Good news for anyone who likes to take their wind instrument out and about: the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass series is here! Worries about unpleasant tones caused by temperature changes and dents from lively spontaneous sessions are a thing of the past. This tough instrument is always up for a good time, and its bright tone sets the mood at all kinds of feel-good events where the unmistakable sound of a brass instrument is a must.
Superlight for Heavy-Duty Use...
Kids, music students, and brass-playing heroes, listen up! The tuba from the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass series is an appealing instrument that’s great for finding your feet and invites you to experiment. You can take it along without a second thought to occasions where an expensive brass model is better off staying in its case. Its low weight makes the MardiBrass tuba an ideal student instrument!
“The Man with the Blue Tuba” Plays MardiBrass
Micha von der Rampe, aka “The Man with the Blue Tuba,” has been performing on the MardiBrass plastic tuba for some time now. Whether at “Dahoim Feschd” (his open-air festival in Brackenheim near Heilbronn), at the ski lodge in Ischgl, or at Megapark in Mallorca, party animal and showman Micha always brings his MardiBrass tuba—and puts it to work.
Micha von der Rampe experiences his own “blue wonder” on every stage and is thrilled: “For me, it’s the perfect tuba. It’s lightweight, an eye-catcher, and almost indestructible—even on the ski slopes and roller coasters!”
Micha’s verdict: “In terms of both sound and performance, it’s an absolute steal for the price. I’d buy this tuba again in a heartbeat!”
Top-Notch Features!
If you think durability and precision are mutually exclusive, think again. The combination of a hard-wearing plastic body with corrosion-resistant stainless steel valves, plus a brass leadpipe and valve section, makes the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass a truly well-rounded instrument.
Perfect for Taking on the Road
MardiBrass instruments are so lightweight that they won’t weigh you down when moving house or heading out on a mountain hike. Their toughness also makes them the ideal travel companion.
The ABS plastic tuba won’t mind if you set it down on the beach for a while as the band cools off in the water, and it can easily handle long, merry evenings at the mountain lodge.
Gig Bag and Mouthpiece Included
This lightweight instrument comes with a mouthpiece and, of course, a matching gig bag.
Quality Tested
To help you enjoy your instrument for years to come, all wind instruments are inspected by Kirstein’s quality control team. The inspection takes place in our master-run wind instrument workshop, where qualified instrument makers check each instrument. We certify its flawless condition on a certificate included with the instrument.

It is 3/4 size Bb tuba and it is smaller that I was expecting. Mechanically it is nicely done and all 4 valves works nicely and they are made like in real tubas.
The bag is very light and nicely done. There is a very long zip to close instrument bag. That might be a problem after a few years use.
The sound is ok, better than I expected, and valves work smoothly.
While playing in a military band you have to play quite loud to to get enough volume. This is compared to my other tuba which is big B&S.
I will use this tuba while practicing and when we have small gigs. This kind of use it is perfect for me. There is a good value for money.
I recommend this tuba also for juniors to be a first instrument.
Thank you
Jukka

I have to say, the paint is great, matte black looks classy, and I don't care if people recognize it as a plastic tuba. The instrument is well made, and after cleaning and oiling, the valves work well. Only the water key on the main tuning slide wouldn't open, and unfortunately I had to force it a little, which caused the sealing plug to break. But it still seals well.
With a normal mouthpiece and a little practice, it produces a good sound and the intonation is surprisingly good.
Unfortunately, the bag that comes with it is not so great. The long zipper makes the packing process a bit tedious. It's better to order the linked gig bag as well. It's much better, offers space for sheet music and a stand, and the instrument is not only better protected but also quicker to pack.
