5-String Bluegrass Banjo With Resonator!
With the BB-5 Classic Cantabile presents an entry-level instrument with excellent workmanship.
5 Strings and Resonator
The BB-5 is a classic 5-string banjo as used by most players. While open guitar tuners on the headstock do their job, a banjo tuning machine for the 5th string is located at the 5th fret. A particular highlight in this price range is the resonator on the back. It directs the produced sound forward, which results in a more projecting sound. Since this banjo does not have a tone ring, it generally does not reach very high volumes - so it is ideal for practicing at home.
Versatile Tone
The tension of the head and the resonator have a great influence on the instrument's sound. Because the resonator can be removed and the head can be tuned with the included wrench, a variety of tonal nuances are possible.
Tuning
The 5-string banjo is mainly used in bluegrass music to take on a variety of rhythmic and harmonic roles. It is usually played in the so-called "Scruggs" style: the strings are plucked with the thumb and middle finger. To increase volume if necessary, fingerpicks can be used. Common 5-string banjo tunings are gDGCD (modal) and gCGCD (Double C), while in bluegrass the open tuning gDGHD is most often used.
Ideal for Beginners
The good workmanship and the low price make this banjo ideal for beginners, but of course also for guitarists seeking new sonic worlds. The sound, workmanship and playability are truly incredible for a banjo in this price range.
Original Remo Head
The 11" large pot is fitted with a textured banjo head from Remo. This gives it significantly better sound quality than most other instruments in this price range.
