Plus, you can enhance your live vocals in real time with the improved harmony and pitch processor, adding harmonies and other effects.

The VE-500 comes in a stompbox format and fits effortlessly into any pedalboard. Connect your guitar to the instrument input and control harmony, pitch, and vocoder functions. At the same time, you can send the unprocessed guitar signal through the Thru output to your other pedals. Meanwhile, the processed vocals can be sent via the VE-500’s stereo XLR outputs directly to a PA mixer, stage monitor, or recording device.

Automatic, Multi-Voice Vocal Harmonies Controlled by Your Guitar or via MIDI

The automatic harmony engine is based on the latest BOSS processor power and detects the chords and keys you play on your guitar to generate two- or three-part harmonies that accompany your singing in real time.
Thanks to the various harmony modes of the VE-500, you can flexibly adjust the generated harmonies depending on song requirements and key structure. Furthermore, the harmony engine can also be controlled via MIDI (through the MIDI or USB input of the VE-500) to generate perfect live harmonies with a MIDI keyboard or based on DAW backing tracks.

The VE-500 offers an enormous variety of effects and parameters to create almost any desired vocal sound. Flexible effect routing options also allow joint or separate processing of solo and harmony vocals. Use the Enhance section to shape your vocals with essential effects like compressor, de-esser, and EQ. Then continue with the two dedicated reverb/delay sections to refine your sound with subtle coloring or transport it into lush ambient spheres.
Additionally, you have four independent FX engines at your disposal, each with a wide selection of effect types. Spice up your vocals with chorus, flanger, or tremolo, add a second reverb or an extra delay, or break all (sound) boundaries and experiment with distortion, radio effect, ring modulation, slicer, filter, and more.

The VE-500 includes dedicated pitch correction that – like the harmony function – can be controlled via the guitar or MIDI input. This helps even inexperienced singers transparently stabilize their voice to enrich their band’s overall sound with lead or backing vocals. For modern hit sounds, you can switch to alternative modes with strong effect processing. Here, noticeable pitch interventions, electronic tonal colors, and even robot sounds await your vocals.

Comprehensive Performance Control

Using the large display and the knobs and buttons of the VE-500, you can quickly and easily edit and recall sounds. Once you find the perfect setup, 99 user patches are available for saving and can be used live anytime. Additionally, the separately available editor/library software lets you edit sounds and manage patches on your Mac or Windows computer.

The three knobs on the control surface can be assigned to parameter favorites for quick and easy sound tweaking on stage. Moreover, the three built-in footswitches provide access to numerous functions, including patch selection, toggling individual effects on/off, harmony and looper functions, and more. External footswitches, an expression pedal, and the MIDI input offer even more control options.
