The DigiTech SDRUM is the world’s first intelligent drum computer for guitarists and bassists. By simply strumming and scratching over the muted strings, you can teach the SDRUM a kick & snare rhythm that forms the foundation for the beat. Based on this rhythm, the SDRUM delivers a professionally sounding drum beat with various embellishments and variations that complement your groove.

Gone are the days when your creative flow was hindered by frustratingly scrolling through lists and menus searching for the beat you want. The SDRUM stores up to 36 different song patterns. The beats can be played through 5 different drumkit samples covering a wide range of genres. The pedal also offers 3 different song parts (verse, chorus, and bridge) for each song, which can be switched on-the-fly during performance.

There are two ways to teach drum patterns to the SDRUM: either via the pads or using BeatScratch, a patented technology that creates kick/snare patterns simply by scratching over the high and low strings of an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar (with a pickup), or a bass. This way, the SDRUM learns drum patterns through a method guitarists and bassists often use to explain a rhythm to a drummer.

Once a kick/snare pattern is generated, the “right” part of the drum kit (hi-hat, ride, tom, etc.) is automatically added to complete the drum pattern. The right part of the drum kit can then be further edited to fit the song.

The SDRUM can learn up to three parts per song and store up to 36 songs. Each song and song part can have different settings that can be adjusted anytime. These include time signature, feel (straight or swing), number of embellishments (how lively the part is), intensity of the part, tempo, and much more.

The drum sounds of the SDRUM, sourced from RealiTone and Digital Sound Factory, include samples with different velocity layers for realistic, dynamic expression. Tasteful, random beat variations, inserted ghost notes, and humanization make the drums sound interesting and convey the feel of a real performance.

The SDRUM offers five different drum types, covering a wide range of genres. Alternating kick and snare sounds for each drum kit. The drums are internally processed with Lexicon hall reverb, so the reverb naturally decays and is never cut off. All this allows the SDRUM to create drum sequences that sound absolutely natural, powerful, organic, and authentic—with minimal effort and time.
