Drum Computer in Stompbox Format!
The DigiTech SDRUM is the world’s first intelligent drum computer for guitarists and bassists. By simply strumming and scratching the muted strings you can teach the SDRUM a kick-and-snare rhythm that forms the foundation of the beat. Based on that rhythm, the SDRUM delivers a professional-sounding drum beat with various embellishments and variations that complement your groove.
Gone are the days when your creative flow was interrupted by frustrating scrolling through lists and menus hunting for the beat you want. The SDRUM stores up to 36 different song patterns. The beats can be played back using 5 different drum kit samples that cover a wide range of genres. The pedal also offers 3 different song parts (Verse, Chorus and Bridge) for each song, which can be switched on-the-fly during performance.
There are two ways to teach the SDRUM drum patterns: either via the pads or with BeatScratch, a patented technology that generates kick/snare patterns simply by scratching the high and low strings of an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar (with a pickup) or a bass. This lets the SDRUM learn drum patterns using a method guitarists and bassists commonly use to explain a rhythm to a drummer.
Once a kick/snare pattern has been generated, the "right" side of the drum kit (hi-hat, ride, tom etc.) is automatically added to complete the drum pattern. The right side of the kit can then be further edited to suit the song.
The SDRUM can learn up to three parts per song and store up to 36 songs. Each song and each song part can have different settings that can be adjusted at any time. These include time signature, feel (straight or swing), number of embellishments (how busy the part is), part intensity, tempo and much more.
The SDRUM's drum sounds from RealiTone and Digital Sound Factory include samples with multiple velocity layers for realistic, dynamic expression. Tasteful random beat variations, inserted fills and humanization keep the drums interesting and convey the feel of a real performance.
The SDRUM offers five different drum types, covering a wide range of genres. Each kit features alternate kick and snare sounds. The drums are processed internally with Lexicon hall so the reverb decays naturally and is never cut off abruptly. All of this allows the SDRUM to produce drum sequences that sound completely natural, powerful, organic and authentic—with minimal effort and time.
The SDRUM is the fastest way from a beat idea to a complete drum track!

The device is incredibly versatile, can be programmed quickly, and sounds quite professional with a small MOER equalizer (mini floor pedal).
Unfortunately, the product is no longer developed according to Digitech, so it remains with the three real disadvantages, no other sounds reloadable, limited memory (and that in times where memory really costs nothing more...) and no way to save his songs externally, the USB interface is not provided for this.
Nevertheless, who can live with these limitations and is looking for a "good" replacement for a live drummer for gigs, is well served with the SDrum.
Definitely give it a try as long as the little pedal is still available!
