very well works the sound or noise reduction and the air resistance when playing is only slightly different than when playing without damper.
Advantage : I live in a floor apartment and take into account the sleeping hours of a toddler in the apartment above us. With the Silent Brass, I can now play whenever I want.
There's nothing like practicing without restriction, that's where I learn best, but it can get very noisy.
The Silent Brass is the best compromise I can imagine. Sometimes I'm happy with the sound result overall, sometimes I struggle with it.
When I play loosely I get relatively close to the natural sound.
That is my honest assessment.
For me, the Silent Brass is an important tool to play more.

It doesn't eliminate sound completely, but it makes it much quieter and much less ringing; the sound transmission has good acoustics. I haven't tried it with the included headphones, but with my own headphones it's a good thing that it fits on other devices.

I'm a mediocre trumpet player and listening to me practice is probably not always the most enjoyable. As a father of small children, I am also dependent on good damping for evening practice. But for me it is also important that there is no higher air resistance and at the same time a good sound. I have all this with Silent Brass now. The only thing that spoils the very good impression are the lousy headphones that Yamaha has included with the product - but they all fit with 3.5mm jack plugs. Can only recommend this product.

...Yes and further I would probably have to write to Yamaha . I have made a short recording via the integrated microphone in the muffler on my MAC in Garageband, which was already quite good. However, I tried it afterwards with a normal vocal mic, where the trumpet then sounds much more natural. Would it be possible in this muffler still a higher-quality micro to install, or exchange would be the product 1+

The attachment is somewhat cumbersome to attach to the belt. Otherwise, the playing sounds muffled, but still quite "real".

Important for the startup are 2 good batteries with 1.5 volts each. At the attempt with something longer remote, whereby one of the two had only 1.3V the LED indicator blinked and the amplifier remained mute. With two new batteries it worked immediately. After switching on, the LED now shows permanently green and the sound in the headphones is deceptively similar to the trumpet sound without mute. To determine that there really is no sound audible outside, I gave the headphones to my wife and she found the sound just as clear and natural as without mute.

super service, I am very satisfied, gladly again at any time, I can and will recommend with a clear conscience, I will certainly order one or the other product more often.

The sound is authentically reproduced. The possibility to mix in an accompanying voice is also well solved. However, the whole thing seems a bit rickety and thus not as high quality as the price would lead us to expect.
