This is already my third Rocktile bass kit and I would also buy the fourth one...

The first kit was also a 5-string and I now play it on stage.

The second kit was supposed to be a custom model with maximum modification. I realized that I needed the 5th string. That's why I ordered the third kit.

I think the fit and accessories are good. The strings supplied are disappointing, but the bass sounds much better with a good set of strings.

The body could also be made of nicer wood. A transparent finish would show unsightly spots in the wood. However, this is no longer noticeable with a lacquer finish.

Once the surfaces are nicely finished, the rest is actually child's play. Assemble, align, adjust, tune and start playing.

Bass #1 convinces with enormous fret purity and, after readjusting the neck, string action, ... very nice to play. I'm really looking forward to the next model :-)
Better than expected!

I am very happy with the bass. Originally I was very skeptical of a "kit" because I had bad experience with a Cajon kit. But with a little help from my bass teacher, a manual and the good preparatory work of the producing company, I had my own bass in my hand after 9 hours of work.
The body had small frayed holes in the fornier in some places. We had to repair these with special wax. But the beautiful grain of the wood is really nice, especially after waxing:
The cables of the potentiometers were soldered together incorrectly, which we had to separate again completely and soldered together according to our own plan.
Otherwise, all parts were included; except for a not at all pre-drilled hole, all holes were exactly pre-drilled.

I am very happy with the result, without "professional" help it is just not so good realizable in the first attempt, in my opinion.
Incredibly beautiful

The body wood is very light, looks like poplar, in 3 glued boards.
Has a layer of marbled burl(I think), about 1mm, veneered on the front. You need to sand and water a couple of times to get the grain off the wood before painting. With such nice grains I chose a stain to not cover them, then clear varnish to make it shiny.
As far as I'm concerned the pickups and electronics are its weak point, the neck is nice and smooth and the tuners hold tuning well. If you know how to assemble it and how to do the setup (you may need to change the angle of the neck with respect to the body for a correct action) it's a great bass, for what it costs it's absolutely worth it...

The kit is okay. Were all the parts available.
The veneers are bad. They have significant scratches that could not be sanded out.
The heartwood had to be worked in so much that the boddy got a different shape.
Sumar Sumarum I will consider buying another kit.
I have bought the kit 137.
Material good, assembly well possible, wiring instructions but does not fit the model

The delivery arrived well, all individual parts are in good quality, body and neck are well finished, no rework required.
Unfortunately, the instructions for wiring / soldering is not correct, the Gafiik does not fit the model (there is no 3-way switch here!) Also in the otherwise good video is missing the more detailed information, which wire with which color should be soldered to which pin.

But that is not the only plus point for the bass kit. The assembly of the kit is easy and he finished bass has a good sound. The most beautiful thing is really the body, the grain of the top plate is wonderful and makes an elaborate paint job unnecessary. The purchase was worth it.

As a musician on other instruments and a hobbyist, the challenge of completing a bass myself was very appealing to me. To sum up: I had a lot of fun with the tinkering and I've been using the finished instrument for a few months now as a beginner's instrument for music lessons. The body has a very nice wood grain so that clear varnish was enough as a finish. I modified the bridge (the adjustment range for the octave purity was a bit tight and the side distance was quite small), the action (too heavy, therefore top-heavy) and the strap pins (replaced by safer locks). Everything else is perfectly fine especially in relation to the price and suitable for the intended use. So: a clear recommendation from me for the JBH5 kit from Rocktile for all who enjoy tinkering and bass.
Buen Kit

On first visual inspection, the parts show no defects or flaws. The body is light and well built with a thin decorative maple veneer on the front. The machining seems correct and the neck fits loosely into the body box. I like the neck a lot, with an almost flat fingerboard and reduced thickness. Solid, with very good woods and the fine frets perfectly aligned without any of them sticking out. Like the rest of the body, it needs to be worked on to polish them and file some edges, but let's not forget that it's a kit and that's what it's all about: working on it, having fun doing it, learning and hoping that the final result pays off.

The chrome components have surprised me by the quality they look, especially the bridge. The electronics seem a bit weaker, but it's a visual impression; we'll see when it's working. I might replace the small screws for a better quality one, as well as the strings for flatwound ones.

I have no opinions about the assembly, as that will be after Christmas, as the kit is for a gift.

The price is a bit high for a kit, but I think it is compensated by the quality of the set. I need to evaluate the final result to be able to better gauge the value for money.

I didn't have really high expectations for this price. Body has a good looking grain, it's pretty soft, dents easily (expected), but it has no sealer so it saved me a lot of sanding which was nice. Neck looks pretty, had to enlarge the machine heads holes, but it's not the end of the world. Neck holes were drilled really off, had to fill them and redrill which was probably the biggest negative. Hardware and electronics are cheap as expected, but get the job done and pickups actually sound not bad at all. Overall it needed a bit more work than anticipated and wanted but got an OK result in the end.

Mein 4. Bausatz.

i am very amazed at how well everything fit. Super to edit. The result is great. I was also surprised that the bass sounds really good. I play more the rock track and there he has decent lows, but also enough "crispness" in the upper mids, which gives out a nice attack presence. As already written, I was and am surprised.
A small drawback is that the body is quite light, making the bass a bit top-heavy.
Conclusion: for little money an entertaining tinkering pastime and in the end a super instrument.

I got the kit of the electric bass spontaneously as a Black Friday offer. Within 2 days I had the kit.
All parts were available and the untreated body had a great grain,
So I just waxed/oiled the wood parts.
Everything fit beautifully and nothing had to be refinished. For my purposes, it sounds great. The string adjustments were easy to do.
Nothing shrieks.
It was really worth the purchase.
Thank you Kirstein.

Having already built a jazz bass years ago after a jazz guitar, I now wanted to mount a precision bass. As a guitarist, I was missing a bass in my collection.
The description foreshadowed that it would be a lightweight due to the wood used for the body, but as a retiree that suited me just fine. I sanded all parts several times, the neck less than the body, because it was very rough, especially at the curves. The headstock got the familiar shape. For coloring I used hardwood oil, the neck remained natural and was only matt varnished. I also gave the body two coats of varnish after more than a week to make the surface a little less sensitive. After assembling all the parts and adding an "ashtray" to the bridge, my bass was as I had envisioned it. I play it through an old Vox Tonelab into the PC and am taken with the tonal variety with this unit. Absolutely recommended purchase for fans who can't afford or don't want an original and enjoy DIY. Unfortunately, you can not insert a picture here, but I have created a great unique with the harmonious wood grain.

I am very pleased with my purchase.
I am in the process of finishing the body and neck with shellac method treated like a valuable piece of furniture.
The body is in two pieces but the joint is invisible and the woods have the same grain.
I gave my own design to the headstock, without copying any famous brand.
The tuning machines are well chromed.
We will see the final effect after the assembly, the setting and then the sound!!!
For now, very satisfied.
All right.

Easy to assemble kit. You can carve the head of the handle, it's cool!
Very soft body wood (easily marked with the nail or at the slightest shock), but given the small price, it's not very surprising..... sound correct.

Fast delivery, well packaged. All holes were (pre)drilled for easy and quick assembly.
Doesn't come with a small socket to adjust the bridge.
Area under the scratchplate should be lined with aluminum foil and the bridge should be well 'grounded' to prevent buzzing from the amp.

The strings stay in tune and you can let your imagination run free when it comes to the finish.

Would order the kit again if i had to and would recommend it to anyone who wants to build and play a cheap bass guitar!

Prompt delivery . All parts are present and in order. The bass is easy to assemble. You should not expect too much of the sound, but the price-performance ratio is optimal. Especially for someone who wants to get into electric bass playing, this is a good option without investing too much money. I have already assembled an electric guitar from Rocktile and can also recommend it.

The wood look of the body is great and looks very good without varnish only waxed, but not only the look is good also the sound convinces. The parts of the kit are all well made and the assembly works problem-free. The only drawback: The pickup has only two cables led to the outside, so then also the one volume pot is superfluous, for this then also a star deduction.

I am satisfied with the kit anyway, especially the price / performance ratio is super.
I would buy the kit again.

The instrument arrived in excellent condition and very few days from the date it was sent. Obviously with such a low price I wasn't expecting a perfect instrument, but it was better than I thought! The electronic part works perfectly and the sound is not bad, the tuners and the bridge do their job and the assembly was quick and fun. Even so, I did find a few issues, such as the pickguard being badly cut in some places and the bridge screw holes being slightly off center, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little work.
I was very happy with this purchase, and I recommend it to all those who would like to gain experience building an instrument that they can modify as they want, in every way.

To my 5-string Ibanez BTB bass I was looking for a cheap passive alternaitve for home. It did not necessarily have to be a 5er. The kit has simply appealed to me: On the one hand, I like to tinker and always try to "bigger" projects on the other hand - a P-bass has something.
All in all, it was relatively easy with the kit to create "his" instrument. All parts are of good quality, the pickups are amazingly good for the price, the poties don't scratch. The only drawback: The screws for the pegs! Here, despite pre-drilling 3 pieces at the head are torn off (one I could still remove). I then threw away the remaining screws and replaced them with something more solid.
After a short adjustment of the neck curvature - was not much necessary - and the string action, the first tests surprised me: No 100€ and the part actually sounds like a min. 600€ bass. Well bravo!

It was total fun to build the kit together!
Unfortunately, the plan for connecting the electronics is not quite understandable... but after I have improved the error, the bass sounds better and the pots do what they should!
It plays well .... and visually you can go wild individually anyway. (Thanks to the videos!)
For practicing and making noise at home, the kit is very well suited.

It seems all the parts are there, only have unpacked equal times two frets loosened, one of them has fallen out completely.
Since I do not need the neck anyway, it does not matter in my case for now, although the fit of neck and body is very good.

The pre-drilled holes of the bridge do not quite fit, you should tighten the screws in the correct order, so first put the bridge on it, align it and tighten the screws that fit first. Then you can widen the not quite matching holes caution a little...

Pickups, tuners and pots are OK for the price, but I would throw the strings in the trash, they are useless. For about 25 ears there is already called very good bass strings.

All in all, the kit is not bad at all, although I am of the opinion that there are qualitative differences within each charge again.

When I saw the kit for a Preci electric bass, I thought at first well, that's a nice toy, but certainly not suitable as an instrument. But I decided to buy this kit, the payment and delivery worked great and when the package arrived with my new bass, I experienced when unpacking, already the first surprise. All parts of the kit were in perfect condition, the body I found so good that I gave up my plan to paint the body. The body and the neck were only waxed by me and have a super look. After assembling, adjusting and tuning, my new bass surprised me with a great sound. The kit is definitely not a toy, but is perfect for making music. I have not regretted to have ordered the bass and would do it again at any time.

I didn't expect much from a 90 € kit, and in fact it had a few problems: I had to re-drill the tuning machines' holes, the neck didn't perfectly fir the body (I solved the problem by adding a 1 mm layer in the neck cavity) and I had to add some wood in the strap locks holes because they kept falling off. However, the bass turned out pretty good: it sounds decent, the neck feels nice to play and overall it was a very fun project.
If you want to try to build your own instrument for the very first time I would 100% recommend this kit.

I ordered this kit because it was the cheapest way to get a paulownia body. This fast growing wood is considered by some as the future of instrument making. I just wanted to get to know it.
I finished the body with a wax-oil set from Rockinger. There the grain comes forward even better. However, it turns out that paulownia is extremely thirsty....
The fitting accuracy of all parts is more than satisfactory. Annoying only that I could not replace the white pickguard with a black one from the aftermarket. This was not about a few new screw holes. The cavities of the Rocktile body were simply too big to be completely covered by another pickguard. So white stayed on.
After assembly, the downside of the paulownia body became apparent: It is so light that the whole thing becomes rather top-heavy, although I already sawed the headstock back to the maximum. There would have to be other, ultra-light tuners on it, but they cost more than the whole kit.
The pickup is powerful and brings the typical Precisound. However, it always sounds a little busy.
Conclusion: With the exception of the headstock, the assembly is a piece of cake, especially since the soldering is already prefabricated. The whole thing is fun and can be heard. For a beginner certainly a nice exercise to get to know his instrument.
