The Xcite XBS100-4 is a powerful passive bass shaker and tactile transducer for intense, precisely perceptible low-frequency effects. With 100 Watt power handling (QMW), up to 500 Watt maximum and an enormous peak force of 324 N, it transmits bass signals directly to seats, platforms, simulator rigs and other solid surfaces. Explosions, engine vibrations, gear shifts, road irregularities and musical hits become not only audible but physically felt. The combination of 4-ohm impedance, high force sensitivity, compact design and a VESA-100-compatible hole pattern makes the XBS100-4 a versatile solution for home cinema, sim racing, gaming, virtual reality and professional tactile-feedback systems.
Powerful, Controlled Bass Response
With a mechanical excursion of ±12 mm the Xcite XBS100-4 produces especially strong and controlled motion. Its low resonance frequency of 22.1 Hz supports an intense physical perception of low frequencies. The specified frequency range of 11 to 1,000 Hz opens up versatile applications, although a low-pass filter is recommended for classic tactile-audio use cases.
For punchy hits, explosions and strong engine impulses, a low-pass around 100 Hz is suitable. If the bass shaker should additionally convey finer surface textures and detailed vibrations, the crossover frequency can be raised to around 150 Hz. The average force is 215 N, while a peak force of 324 N is reached briefly. This makes the XBS100-4 suitable for heavy seats, stable aluminium rigs and larger platforms.
Efficient Performance at 4 Ohms
The XBS100-4 has an impedance of 4 Ohm and can be driven by suitable bass-shaker amplifiers, subwoofer power amps or other compatible power amplifiers. The recommended amplifier range is 100 to 500 Watt into 4 Ohm. Thanks to the high force sensitivity of 8.2 N/Watt the transducer delivers clearly noticeable results even with moderate amplifier power.
For maximum dynamics and to fully exploit its power reserves a robust amplifier with appropriate impedance stability is recommended. The force factor of 14.6 N/A supports the controlled conversion of electrical audio signals into mechanical motion. The speaker cable can be connected quickly and securely via compact spring terminals.
SpiderCore Motor With Neodymium Drive
The special SpiderCore motor architecture integrates the suspension directly into the motor unit. Compared to conventional designs this concept enables a particularly low overall height without significantly limiting the available excursion. The Xcite XBS100-4 therefore achieves a total height of just 48.5 mm and can be mounted directly under a seat, on a mounting plate or inside a simulator rig even where space is limited.
The powerful neodymium motor and the oversized 4.5" voice coil ensure a fast and precise response to changing signals. Multiple simultaneously reproduced effects remain clearly distinguishable. This is especially advantageous for complex sim-racing telemetry data, multilayered gaming effects, dynamic film scenes and demanding musical signals.
The voice coil has a diameter of 114 mm and is built with four layers. Together with the symmetrical double-steel suspension this creates a robust motor unit that operates reliably even under high mechanical stress.
VESA-100-Compatible Mounting
The hole pattern of the Xcite XBS100-4 is compatible with VESA 100. This allows the bass shaker to fit suitable VESA-100 mounts, mounting plates and structures with a hole spacing of 100 x 100 mm. The standardized mounting simplifies integration into simulator rigs, gaming seats, seat brackets, platforms and custom tactile-audio constructions.
With the four mounting holes the transducer can be screwed securely to a sufficiently stiff and vibration-capable surface. The symmetrical suspension allows a flexible installation orientation. The XBS100-4 can be mounted horizontally, vertically, sideways or upside down without restricting its intended function to a specific orientation.
The outside diameter of 156 mm also corresponds to a common mounting format and allows interchange with compatible bass shaker models such as BST-1 and AST-2B-4. The flat spring terminals do not require any additional lateral or vertical installation space.
Robust Construction for Heavy Loads
The enclosure of the Xcite XBS100-4 is made from high-quality aluminium and also serves as a large-area heat sink. The double steel suspension provides high mechanical stability. Steel and aluminium are used for the load-bearing structure instead of plastic.
With an IP66 rating the bass shaker is protected against dust ingress and powerful water jets. This makes it suitable for demanding installations where a rugged, long-lasting construction is required. The solid build supports reliable operation under heavy load and intense tactile-feedback effects.
Versatile for Home Cinema and Simulation
In the home cinema the XBS100-4 turns chairs, sofas and platforms into physically perceptible bass surfaces. Deep film signals can be experienced without exciting the entire room solely through high subwoofer levels. This also makes the bass shaker suitable as the basis for a silent subwoofer system or a discreet extension of existing home-cinema setups.
In sim racing the Xcite XBS100-4 transfers engine vibrations, gear shifts, curbs, tire slip and road effects directly to the seat or rig. Gaming chairs, flight simulators, virtual-reality platforms and music installations also benefit from the immediate mechanical signal transmission.
Depending on construction and desired intensity a single XBS100-4 can excite a seat or platform of roughly 0.5 to 8 m². For sofas, spatially separated effects or multi-layered simulator systems multiple units can be combined and driven via separate audio channels or telemetry signals.
