The Most Precise Saxophone Ever Made!
With Selmer SERIES III saxophones, a host of innovations were introduced to the saxophone market for the first time. These novelties were developed in collaboration with Claude Delangle, professor at the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique" in Paris, and studio musician Patrick Bourgoin.
The soloistic and brilliant sound and excellent intonation are also thanks to a new bore and a new design of the S-curve, implemented across all 4 sizes from soprano to baritone. On all SERIES III instruments, the mechanics were mounted on the smallest possible plates to allow the body a free vibration behavior. This achieved a higher degree of flexibility.
For the soprano, a detachable S-curve was realized for the first time, enabling playing with a slightly angled curve and thus a more comfortable posture. The mechanics and ergonomics were revised on all sizes. The SERIES III is in every respect the most precise saxophone ever built.
