Model "Stadler" - Exclusive at Kirstein

We are delighted and proud to now exclusively present and offer you the new Bb clarinet, model "Stadler", from Martin Foag’s premium instrument workshop. The "Stadler" model (German system) is a perfect all-rounder for various styles such as traditional, modern, and symphonic wind music. Ambitious amateur musicians and (aspiring) students will truly enjoy this model!

The "Stadler" model features 20 keys, 6 ring keys, and 4 trill keys, equipped with a fork F and fork B mechanism as well as an F lever. It is fitted with high-quality clarinet pads made from KLX-MagTex (microfilter laminate), which are especially durable and absolutely waterproof.

The included barrels are perfectly matched to the instrument. They have thicker walls, ensuring better sound transmission and outstanding tone projection. When producing additional barrels, Foag follows customer-specific wishes or specifications.

The high-quality materials used in the body and the silver-plated mechanism promise a long instrument lifespan and unclouded joy in playing for many years.

Premium Equipment

Clarinet maker Martin Foag sets high standards not only for his instruments but also for the included accessories. The "Stadler" model is delivered in the elegant clarinet case "No. 95" from the Kariso case manufactory in Wolfhagen, Hesse. The functional, lockable case naturally offers space not only for the clarinet itself but also for plenty of accessories.

The package includes, besides care accessories, a high-quality mouthpiece, type W5A, from the Hessian manufacturer ESM (Ernst Schreiber Michelstadt), a ligature from GF-System in Upper Bavaria’s Hohenwart, and a clarinet reed from the "Artist" series by the Upper Austrian reed specialist Pilgerstorfer.

About the Model’s Namesake

This Foag model bears the name of the Austrian clarinetist Anton Stadler, born in 1753 in Bruck an der Leitha and who passed away in 1819 in Vienna. Stadler mastered his clarinet and basset clarinet excellently and was especially famous for his brilliant playing in the low register. Together with his younger brother Johann Nepomuk, he played both in the orchestra of the Vienna Burgtheater and in the imperial and royal wind ensemble. In collaboration with the ingenious instrument maker Theodor Lotz, he achieved a significant extension of the range of his clarinets.

Anton Stadler was a masterful instrumentalist and a respected artist of his time. Composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Xaver Süssmayr composed solo concertos for him as well as ensemble works for his various ensembles.
