The Deepest Diatonic Harmonica!

When the Marine Band was introduced to the American market in 1896, no one could have predicted the lasting impact this instrument would have on the future of pop music. Its low price and compact size made the Marine Band a popular travel companion. The unique, almost plaintive sound of bending opened up a whole new world of creative expression for players.

This laid the foundation for the Marine Band series, which has become a key figure unleashing the raw emotions of blues, the free spirit of country, and the energy of rock'n'roll like no other. From the classic 1896 to the modern crossover, the Marine Band series offers genre-defining harmonicas that remain the first choice of countless harmonica players worldwide. All Marine Band models are made in Germany.

The Marine Band Thunderbird

Sometimes the sound of a normally tuned harmonica just isn’t fat enough to really compete with the power of guitar, bass, and drums. The Marine Band Thunderbird, with its patented bamboo comb, is the answer. Tuned one octave lower than standard harps, it features a special cover plate design inspired by the legendary customizer Joe Filisko. Its conical shape prevents the low reeds from hitting and rattling against the cover. The deepest diatonic harmonica in the lineup delivers a powerful, thick sound that shakes the ground and opens up a new dimension of low harmonicas.
