Yamaha Pre-Trumpet - The First Trumpet for Children!

The Yamaha Trova is a unique wind instrument that lets children learn the basics of brass playing at an early age and have fun doing it.

The Trova is lightweight, robust and uses the same lip-vibration principle as a conventional trumpet to produce naturally harmonic tones. There are no valves and therefore no fingerings to learn, so young musicians can start playing right away and enjoy making music.

Durable and Lightweight

The use of cylindrical tubing throughout the instrument allows for thicker wall gauges for extra durability (wall thickness of a standard trumpet: approx. 0.5 mm; Trova wall thickness: approx. 1.0 mm).

Using aluminum tubing drastically reduces the total weight (weight of a standard trumpet: approx. 1,100 g; weight of the Trova: approx. 180 g).

Easy to Play and Care For

When held to play, the instrument's center of gravity sits close to the player, making it easy for children to hold. Since the Trova has no valves, there are no fingerings to learn, so kids can start playing immediately and experience the fun of brass instruments.

The Trova is not as loud as a standard brass instrument and can therefore be played in a wide range of environments and situations. In addition, the volume can be further reduced by removing the bell.

Thanks to its simple construction, the inside of the instrument can be cleaned under running water.
