Student French Horn - Ideal for 9- to 14-Year-Olds!
The instruments of the Classic Cantabile BRASS series have always stood for exceptional sound, high-quality workmanship and fair prices. Since their introduction, these beautiful instruments have delighted beginners as well as professionals. Their outstanding quality also shows in the thoughtful details that make these instruments truly special.
The WH-701L Bb French horn is the perfect instrument for beginners and music students. The reduced angle between the leadpipe and bell makes this horn ideal for children aged 9–14. With its compact size, the WH-701L is approximately a quarter smaller than standard French horns, making it easy to handle and comfortable to play. Sonically, it can still compete with the full-size instruments. The smooth-operating nickel-silver outer slides and precise workmanship produce an excellent, warm tone. Bell, tuning slide and leadpipe are made of brass.
Certified Quality
To ensure long-lasting enjoyment of your instrument, all wind instruments are inspected by Kirstein quality control. This inspection takes place in our master-led wind workshop and is carried out by qualified instrument builders. We guarantee the instrument's flawless condition on a certificate that is included with the instrument.

Such a children's horn is sufficient for the beginning, even if the intonation is rather moderate. The children take the g1 with the 1st and 3rd valve and the c2 was too low on this instrument. By the time this tone is reached, the children are usually big enough for a normal and then higher quality instrument.
The horn I bought was otherwise well made.
