Air-Stream Trainer for Horn

A high-quality piece that does exactly what is important for playing the saxophone, training your breathing. The small balls were no problem for me, but with the larger ones I quickly realized that there was a need for action.
Practicing one session a day noticeably improves my breathing.

Well, I have to admit, at first I was skeptical 🧐 as to whether this training device, which looks like a toy, could really contribute to my trumpet training?
In the meantime, however, I am very convinced by this tool and I can recommend it to every "brass player", whether student or professional.
If you practise regularly, you will soon develop a good embouchure and an even flow of air. The lungs are strengthened. I think you could also use this piece to learn "circulation breathing". Because the floating ball allows you to see exactly whether the air flow stops or not when breathing.
I personally use the "ASTRA" as follows:
1. before practicing with the trumpet, simply blow into the ASTRA via the mouthpiece as evenly and as long as possible. This is especially helpful for students with little experience. Because the floating ball allows you to see exactly where the mistakes are in order to produce a clean tone. You also become calmer inside.
2. then simply produce a tone with the lips using the mouthpiece and ASTRA as you would on the instrument. It is enough if the ball floats slightly. The ball should float calmly and evenly! That's enough!
When I play the trumpet after these exercises, I get a better feel for playing from week to week.
The notes are gradually played more cleanly. The use of air can be better controlled. The tendency to blow into the horn with a lot of force is also reduced. The interplay between lips 👄, air flow etc. is very well illustrated by the floating ball. What you don't see when playing with the instrument.
Simply a nice toy for young and slightly more mature friends who want to learn to play an instrument 🎺. But be careful, as with everything in life, everything in moderation, don't overdo it. The student is not spared regular practice here either...
I would also like to point out that the wood should not be put back in a bag immediately after practicing. The moisture from blowing has to dry first. (Caring for the wood)
A well thought-out, solidly built training device for the price. I therefore give it full points.

Am very satisfied with the "Air-Stream-Trainer".
At the moment I have a new student with whom I use this "toy".
This allows me as an instructor to see if the breathing and blowing technique is having the right effect.
Price is top.
Can only recommend this, especially for beginners is well suited.

Good for practicing with the mouthpiece, but doesn't let the tone get fuller.

Recommended several times by my daughter's trumpet teacher, we have now purchased the Air-Stream-Trainer. Already after the first training an effect seems to be noticeable.
