Small Stabilizer, Big Sound!

The tone stabilizer from Martin Seibold is screwed in as a connecting intermediate piece in the valve cluster of the instrument. The sound becomes fuller and purer thanks to the Tone Stability Enhancer (TSE). The tones respond more easily and lock in better, making the player perform more confidently and securely. The tone stabilizer is hardly noticeable in weight and can be mounted almost invisibly on the instrument due to its compact dimensions.

Easy Installation

For installation, unscrew the knurled screw from the TSE. Attach the threaded part from behind to the valve casing as shown in the sketch (see image 2) and hand-tighten both parts together using the knurled screw so that the TSE rests against both valve casings.

About the Manufacturer

The idea for the Tone Stability Enhancer comes from Martin Seibold, who has made a name for himself as a supplier of small parts for instrument makers. His company is based in Baiernrain, a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Dietramszell. Martin Seibold is especially known as the inventor of the established Minibal ball joint, which he introduced in the mid-1990s.

Noticeable Improvement in Low Notes
Review from Frederick on 08.05.2026
Variant Martin Seibold TSE 1 Tone Stability Enhancer for Perinet Valve Instruments
This rating has been translated automatically. Original language flag from
I bought this tone stabilizer for my marching euphonium.
According to the manufacturer’s specifications, this stabilizer is suitable for any instrument with Perinet valves.
While installing it, I noticed that the “jaws” don’t make full contact—so the TSE tends to touch the valves with its edge. I can’t say whether this affects its intended function.

The tone is well stabilized in the lower registers and helps produce a rich sound. When transitioning from low to higher notes (starting at B’), I find it harder to hit them cleanly with the TSE. Here, I felt that I hit the notes better without it.
Perhaps it’s just a matter of getting used to it, or it depends on how the TSE is mounted.
Or maybe it’s simply because the edges—and not the pads—are resting against the valves….

Nevertheless, even here in the high notes, the tone (after playing it cleanly) is richer and more stable, though not quite as noticeable as with the low notes.

I haven’t tried it on the trumpet yet. I’ll get to that. So far, though, my priority has been the euphonium.

Conclusion: a good gadget for more advanced brass players. For beginners, I’d recommend starting without a TSE for now.
