The Ambient Ø (zero) is an immersive ambient music generator that, thanks to Sonicware's newly developed Blendwave Modulation Synthesis, lets you dive into entirely new musical dimensions. Despite the complex sound generation, Ambient Ø is incredibly easy to use. Play a note on one of the four layers and hold it with the Note-Hold function while you sculpt the sound with the knobs and add more layers until you find the sound you want.
Blendwave Modulation Synthesis
Sonicware conducted extensive research to create waveform-like, fluctuating tones for Ambient Ø. The result is this new wavetable-based synthesis engine. Blendwave Modulation Synthesis combines 6 unique structures with 32 WAVEs and, through complex harmonic transitions, creates powerful, deep drones, lush pads and transparent pizzicatos — perfect for ambient music!
Intuitive And Powerful Operation
4 knobs / 8 parameters provide a broad foundation for sound creation. WAVE features 127 harmonic wavetables enabling diverse sounds, from simple waveforms to complex overtone progressions. The WAVE symbol represents Yin-Yang, with the Yin oscillator moving through the wavetables in the opposite direction during modulation.
6 Structures
Each of the 6 structures has a different number of oscillators and modulation circuits. For example, ATMOS 1 applies ring modulation, while ATMOS 2 uses FM modulation.
Noise Layer For Texture & Space
The noise layer includes 8 specially selected natural sounds to create unique spatial effects via noise blending, pitch control and modulation. In addition, up to 8 (!) seconds of stereo sampling (16bit - 32kHz) is possible via the line input, so you can craft your own textures.
Extensive Effects Section
Ambient Ø is equipped with 9 reverb algorithms, each offering distinct spatial resolution and dimension. Reverb send and Shimmer send (for octave layering) are adjustable per layer. In addition to reverb, Ambient Ø features an effects unit with tape delay, reverse delay and 4 master effects: overdrive, bit/rate crush, tilt EQ and stereo chorus.
Sequencer On Every Layer
Each layer also includes a sequencer that lets you record keyboard performances and automate numerous parameters over time, such as level, pan and filter movements.

Portable & Flexible
Thanks to its portability, built-in speaker and optional battery operation, Ambient Ø can be used almost anywhere. Leave your usual workspace and use Ambient Ø in the living room, out in nature or at other unique locations where you want to incorporate the site's tonal textures musically. As the evolving sounds blend with the ambient noises, you may well experience "real" ambient music.
