Feel/packaging: The set of 3 strings comes in a nice tin box. This can be used for additional strings, picks, a small tuner or similar after use. The box is sturdy and if you don't drop it all the time, it should last longer. It is slightly magnetic, so definitely not a box for mechanical clocks!
The strings, especially the low E string, are very powerful. These have the Paradigm core and Ernie Ball promises that they will be exchanged if they break within a certain time... at least with the standard Paradigm versions. I haven't broken one yet.
All six strings are individually packed, as you would expect from Ernie Ball. The plastic packaging is black/green and the design is based on that of the box.
Sound: Powerful bass, but the highs are not drowned out. I played these on a Gibson Flying V with passive pickups and on an EC 256, Snakebyte and Iron Cross with active pickups, sometimes tuned down a semitone. Otherwise E-Standard.
Conclusion: The 3-pack is not significantly more expensive than three individual Paradigm packs. However, the 11 version of the standards goes from 11-48, while the Papa Hets go from 11-50, so it doesn't sound too "muddy" and is still defined. I don't play every day and my first change came after 5 months. I can't say what it looks like for players who "hit the strings" every day.
I can recommend the set regardless of whether you are a Het fan or not.
