Taylor 114ce Special Edition Dark Tobacco Burst

Taylor 114ce Special Edition - Grand Auditorium With Vintage Character!

The Taylor 114ce Special Edition combines the versatile Grand Auditorium body with a distinctive, classically inspired look and the proven construction of the 100 Series. The Venetian cutaway allows comfortable access to the upper frets and underlines this steel-string guitar's role as a flexible instrument for different playing styles. The shaded edgeburst design and the matte body give the special edition a pronounced vintage character, while the familiar Taylor silhouette remains modern and clean.

Torrefied Spruce Top And C-Class Bracing

The solid torrefied spruce top forms the sonic foundation of the 114ce Special Edition. The thermal treatment gives the wood qualities that resemble a well-played top and contribute to a warm, resonant tone. The back and sides are made from layered sapele. The wood pairing is complemented by Taylor's C-Class bracing, designed for balanced response and strong projection. The Grand Auditorium body provides a balanced platform for strumming, flatpicking, and fingerstyle, making the 114ce a versatile acoustic guitar.

Playing Comfort In Typical Taylor Style

The fretboard of smoked eucalyptus features subtle 4 mm dot inlays of Italian acrylic. The Taylor NT neck is made of mahogany or maple depending on the specification and sports a satin finish. With a scale length of 25.5 inches and a nut width of 1-11/16 inches, the guitar delivers a direct and familiar feel. The white Nubone nut and the white Micarta bridge insert complete the functional setup and ensure clearly defined string guidance.

Expression System 2 For Amplified Use

For stage, rehearsal, and recording the Taylor 114ce Special Edition is fitted with the in-house Expression System 2. This allows the acoustic signal to be sent directly to an amplifier, PA, or audio interface. Chrome tuners, black binding, a black pickguard, and the three-ring rosette echo the deliberately restrained styling of the special edition. The guitar ships with coated D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze Light strings installed. Included with the guitar is a soft gig bag that protects the 114ce during transport and storage.
