Martin Guitar DJr-E Spruce Sapele Western Acoustic Guitar

Martin D Junior E - Compact Dreadnought With Full-Bodied Character!

The Martin D Junior E combines the powerful core character of a dreadnought with the handy dimensions of the Junior series. A solid Adirondack spruce top meets solid sapele back and sides, forming the foundation for a balanced, resonant acoustic tone. With its 24.9" scale length, Performing Artist neck profile and integrated Martin E-1 electronics, the electro-acoustic guitar is equally suited to relaxed home playing, sessions, recordings and stage use.

Solid Tonewoods and Scalloped X-Bracing

The solid Adirondack spruce top responds dynamically to different attack strengths and supports both finely articulated fingerpicking and powerful strumming. Back and sides of solid sapele complement the tonal picture with warmth, clarity and a balanced response. Under the top, a scalloped spruce X-bracing with 1/4" thick braces works to let the top vibrate freely and to support projection and resonance, without depriving the compact Junior body of its direct playing feel.

Junior Dreadnought With Comfortable 24.9" Scale Length

The Junior D body shape transfers the classic dreadnought concept into a more manageable format. That makes the guitar sit comfortably against the body and easy to transport, without sacrificing a full-scale length. The neck made of selected hardwood features Martin's Performing Artist profile paired with the High Performance Taper. The Richlite fretboard offers a 16" radius and carries Style 28 inlays in faux abalone. With a nut width of 44.45 mm there is plenty of room for clean chord work and nuanced fingerstyle playing.

Martin E-1 Electronics for Stage and Recording

For amplified use the D Junior E is equipped with the Martin E-1 system. In addition to volume and tone controls, a phase function is available to adapt the signal to different stage situations. An integrated chromatic tuner also enables quick and easy tuning directly on the instrument. That keeps the acoustic character of the guitar flexible for rehearsals, recordings and live performances.

Thoughtful Details for Mobile Use

The glued mortise-and-tenon neck joint, the Richlite bridge in Sloped Modern Belly Junior style and the white TUSQ saddle form a solid structural basis. Closed tuners in satin chrome with small buttons provide a neat look and reliable operation. The guitar ships from the factory strung with Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan Phosphor Bronze .012-.054. A matching junior softcase is included for transport and storage.
