Dave Mustaine is the legendary guitarist, singer, songwriter and founder of the multi-platinum, Grammy Award–winning band Megadeth. He is regarded as one of the most influential metal musicians of all time. His music has inspired and shaped generations around the world.

Gibson proudly presents the Dave Mustaine Songwriter. This guitar was designed in collaboration with Gibson brand ambassador Dave Mustaine. It features a slightly thinner walnut Songwriter body for improved playing comfort and a cutaway for easier access to the upper frets, a mahogany neck measuring 24.75" long and an ebony fingerboard with 24 frets (the first 24-fret neck ever installed in a Gibson acoustic guitar), as well as tooth-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, Grover Rotomatic tuners, a TUSQ saddle and bridge pins, and a more powerful LR Baggs pickup under the saddle with volume and tone controls mounted at the soundhole. Vic Rattlehead artwork appears on the pickguard and in mother-of-pearl on a headstock inlay.
