Icon Since 1960 - The Hummingbird Reissue Heritage Cherry Sunburst!

The Gibson Hummingbird was first introduced in 1960 and was the first acoustic guitar model with square shoulders in Gibson’s catalog. It arrived at the dawn of a new era in music and has since been played by many artists, including Keith Richards and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Eric Church, J Mascis, Joe Bonamassa, Gillian Welch, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Steve Wariner, Dan Auerbach and many more.

A big part of the Hummingbird’s appeal is its versatility. No matter how you approach this flat-top—gentle fingerpicking, aggressive strumming or single-note leads—it delivers beautiful tones, making it an ideal choice across a wide range of musical styles. Epiphone is proud to present the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue in collaboration with Gibson Custom, an Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop reissue of the legendary Hummingbirds from that first year. This stunning acoustic features a thermally aged solid spruce top reinforced with the traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn solid spruce. The back and sides of the 1960 Hummingbird Reissue are crafted from solid mahogany, producing a warm, rich overall tone that works exceptionally well in many genres. The one-piece, thermally aged mahogany neck with a 24.75" scale has a rounded profile and finishes with a bound rosewood fingerboard with 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays.
