The built-in stereo speaker system with 2 x 12 watts, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi and USB-C make the FP-40 a versatile companion for home, lessons, creative practice and music production.

Piano Reality Sound Engine for Natural Piano Tone

The modern Piano Reality sound engine is based on technologies from Roland's high-end digital grands. It combines detailed samples with selected modeling techniques to produce natural resonances, dynamic tonal behavior and authentic decay. A total of 305 sounds are available, 40 selectable directly on the instrument and a further 265 via the Roland Piano App. With 256-voice polyphony even complex passages and extended chords remain sonically distinct.

88 Weighted Keys with PHA-4 Hammer Action

The PHA-4 Standard keyboard with 88 keys gives you a realistic touch modeled on an acoustic piano. The weighted hammer action, Escapement keybed simulation and grippy Ivory-Feel surface let you control dynamics precisely. Thanks to triple-sensor technology, fast note repetitions and nuanced attacks are detected reliably. That makes this digital piano appealing to beginners and advanced players alike.

Powerful Stereo Sound with 24 Watts Total Output

The built-in speaker system uses two 8 x 12 cm drivers. Two amplifier channels at 12 watts each deliver a total of 24 watts. The optimized speaker layout provides a clear, spacious sound with convincing bass response. For undisturbed practice you can plug in headphones and enjoy a spatial listening experience with Piano Reality Headphones Ambience.

Learn Piano with the Piano Sphere App

The Roland FP-40 offers direct integration with the Piano Sphere app. It supports your piano learning with personalized exercises, interactive lessons and real-time feedback. Even without an active subscription you get access to 100 songs and guided lessons. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB-C for Flexible Connectivity

With Bluetooth 5.4 for audio and MIDI, the FP-40 connects wirelessly to compatible mobile devices. Built-in Wi-Fi enables synchronization with Piano Sphere and wireless system updates. The USB-C port supports USB-MIDI and USB audio as well as powering compatible smartphones. Via the audio outputs the instrument can also be connected to external amplifiers or PA systems.

Practical Features for Lessons and Music Production

Dual, Split and Twin Piano modes give you versatile playing options. A metronome, transpose function and the built-in MIDI recorder make daily practice and capturing musical ideas easier.
