The Nord Grand 2 is equipped with the latest weighted keyboard from Kawai. By combining the feel of an acoustic grand piano with Clavia’s renowned piano sample library and a clear, easy-to-understand user interface, the elegant Nord Grand 2 offers a unique playing experience.
The Grand Experience
The Nord Grand 2 features a new and improved fully weighted Kawai keyboard with triple sensors for precise key pressure detection. The well-balanced and responsive keyboard has an advanced hammer mechanism that allows exceptional control across the entire dynamic range. Retaining the user-friendliness of the Nord Grand 1 and with two layers for piano and synthesizer, the Nord Grand 2 offers more flexibility for performance and sound creation.
Performance
The Nord Grand 2 has LED faders for each layer as well as knobs and buttons for all essential functions needed in live performance. Tasks like creating layers and splits, adding effects, or transposing the instrument can be done in no time. The two piano and synth engines can be combined in one layer or split across the keyboard. Each layer has its own effect section. The Nord Grand 2 features 7 split points indicated by LED lights, and the split point crossfades provide smooth transitions between two split zones. Choose from 3 different crossfade widths (Small, Large, or Off), indicated by different LED colors.
Piano Section
The Nord Grand 2 offers an extensive collection of grands, uprights, and electric pianos from Clavia’s exclusive Nord Piano Library, combined with new features like Dynamic Compression and Unison. The state-of-the-art sampling technique captures the extraordinary nuances and true character of the sampled instruments. Excellent "Advanced String Resonance" and "Dynamic Pedal Noise" provide a realistic playing feel and unmatched expressiveness.
Synth Section
The synth section includes two independent sample synths with greatly expanded memory and a wide selection of new and updated sounds ranging from brass, horns, strings, basses, and guitars to analog leads and basses. Also included are samples from the Symphobia and Swing libraries by ProjectSAM. The sample synth section offers two fully equipped and independent layers and features intuitive controls for attack, decay/release, and dynamic velocity response. The Soft and Bright settings allow quick and easy sound shaping. The Grand 2 sample synth engine introduces several new features. "Tru-Vibrato" accurately models the unique vibrato characteristics of various wind, brass, and string instruments, and Round Robin enables naturally sounding fast note repetitions. Vibrato is controlled via button, pedal, or preset delay. The sample synth section also offers "Mono" and "Legato" modes with adjustable glide rate.
Effect Section
The Nord Grand 2 features a powerful new effect section per layer. The extensive selection of effects includes brand-new types of reverb, delay, amp, and modulation effects.
Keyboard Stand
Simply loosen the two easy-grip hand screws, extend smoothly to the desired width, and tighten the screws again – done! The scissor mechanism provides constant stability in every position. To adjust the height, two hand screws and locking pins allow quick and secure setup. The height can be set in 6 increments from 61 to 85 cm. When folded, the keyboard table is only 8 cm wide, making it easy to transport in any car or store behind a cabinet when not in use. The wide height adjustment range makes the stand perfect for both children and adults.
Headphones
The Pronomic KH-900 is a professional stereo headphone that combines excellent sound characteristics with maximum wearing comfort at a budget-friendly price. The soft, wide faux leather headband automatically adjusts to head size, ensuring a comfortable fit. The KH-900 covers a wide frequency range from 15 to 25,000 Hz, delivering balanced, nuanced sound with brilliant, clear highs and precise, rich bass. With a low impedance of only 32 ohms, the KH-900 performs impressively even on very low-power headphone outputs such as MP3 players or smartphones, providing powerful sound and ample headroom.
