The Fundamental Distortion is a 3-mode distortion with the tonal integrity to live on a pro’s pedalboard, but with simplified controls that make it approachable for new effect-pedal users. It covers a wide range of tones, from dark and doom-laden to sharp, cutting leads.

For the Fundamental series we took on the challenge of developing a line of pedals that deliver the tonal integrity required for a professional pedalboard, while offering simplified controls that are user-friendly even for the newest pedal players. Each Fundamental pedal features three faders for tone shaping and a three-way switch to change pedal modes. The result is a lineup of pedals that will follow you from your first jam to a sold-out arena. Designed and built at Walrus Audio HQ in OKC, OK.

The Fundamental Distortion is a three-mode distortion. It covers a wide range of tones, from dark and doom-like textures to sharp, cutting leads.

Gain

The Gain slider sets the amount of amplification applied to the guitar signal before it hits the distortion circuit.

Tone

The Tone control shapes the frequency response after the distortion. Turn left of center to reduce highs, turn right of center to boost them.

Volume

The Volume control sets the pedal’s overall output level.

Slide Switch

The slide switch lets you pick between three distinct flavors of the pedal. Each position uses different clipping or tonal profiles:

• Dark: Asymmetric silicon clipping with additional high-frequency roll-off. Think dark and dynamic.
• Si: Classic silicon hard-clipping diodes. The sound becomes compressed and snappy.
• LED: LED hard-clipping diodes. A dynamic, snappy sound. Note: The LED clipping mode is louder due to the nature of LEDs, so use your volume control to balance it!
