Crazy Tube Circuits Crossfire

Crossfire is inspired by one of the most legendary pedal-amplifier combos in guitar history!

The left side is modeled after the Blackface amps that shaped the clean electric guitar sound. Everything is analog, and the circuit was meticulously recreated to include all key tonal components. From the thick bass, sparkling highs, and scooped mids to the powerful sound of a solid-state rectified 4x 6L6GC power amp or the sponginess of a tube-rectified 2x 6L6GC power amp, selectable via the headroom switch.

On the right side, you get the green mid-hump overdrive we’ve all come to love since its introduction in the late ’70s. Crazy Tube Circuits chose to faithfully recreate the circuit of this classic overdrive but included some of the most common mods the pedal has seen over the years in mass production and boutique variants. A clipping toggle switch selects between symmetrical (original) or asymmetrical clipping for enhanced pick dynamics, while a gain toggle adds more gain and alters the low-end response, reminiscent of stacking two identical overdrive pedals. An internal switch provides extra headroom by powering the overdrive circuit with 18 V DC.

Warning: This device is designed for a 9 V DC input only. Do not use higher voltages.

A passive effects loop lets you integrate your favorite pedals into the signal chain to build your ideal rig or use both sides independently (Send is the output of the overdrive side, Return is the input of the amp side). When both sides are in bypass mode, the loop is truly bypassed, so your signal remains unaffected.
