Classic Cantabile SF-10 Lid Damper for Piano

Protects Your Instrument and Your Fingers!

Classic Cantabile's fallboard brake prevents your piano's keyboard lid from dropping. This sturdy accessory protects both the instrument and the pianist's valuable fingers.

Stable and Durable

The hydraulic brake consists of a small oil-pressure spring set in a sturdy metal frame. When you close the piano, the keyboard lid simply rests on the fallboard brake and is lowered slowly as a result. The entire mechanism is glued to the piano only. For this to work, there must be at least 3 cm of space beside the keyboard for the fallboard brake. The underside of the piano lid is protected with a gold-colored metal strip so that the two rollers do not have direct contact with the instrument's surface.

Good for Piano and Pianist

The brake prevents the keyboard lid from dropping quickly, which delivers more than just acoustic benefits. Besides preventing a loud slam, it also protects the instrument itself, since hard impacts can damage the casing over time. Especially during music lessons with children, the biggest advantage is that the player's fingers are spared a painful encounter with the keyboard lid.
