Pads

The velocity-sensitive RGB pads on the SL MkIII have multiple functions – you can launch clips, trigger sequencer steps, play drums with your fingers, and use polyphonic aftertouch.

Backlit Pitch and Modulation Wheels

The pitch and modulation wheels change color thanks to RGB LEDs depending on which track you’re working on. The brightness indicates the parameter value you’re adjusting.

Components

Components lets you save and restore templates and sessions in the cloud so you can access them anywhere. Of course, you can also save all content locally.

Pattern Scrolling in Step View

Use the up/down buttons to scroll through all loaded sequencer patterns to view and edit them without losing the selection of the currently playing pattern.

This is especially useful for live performance. You can make changes to patterns on the fly before they actually play – whether they’re arranged in a chain or running individually.

Assignable Aftertouch

Aftertouch adds a boost of expression to your SL MkIII performance. The function can be assigned to any MIDI controller command via Components.

Now you can control all your DAW or synthesizer functions that receive MIDI with a single button press – from opening a filter, modulating an oscillator’s pulse width, to cranking up a distortion or detuning a unison stack.

More Responsive Controls

We improved the encoder response on the SL MkIII for smoother parameter adjustments over a shorter turn range without audible steps.

Extended Gate Length

Doubling the maximum step length to 32 lets you record and play longer MIDI notes within patterns, enabling more complex and expressive tracks.

Expanded NRPN Control

SL MkIII v1.2 outputs the full range of MIDI control commands (CC) and now communicates with NRPN-capable devices. This greatly expands the scope of hardware control and allows parameter edits with a resolution not possible with standard MIDI.
