Keys & Pads

The Impact LX Mini features Nektar’s newly developed keyboard bed with 25 velocity-sensitive mini keys. It plays expressively and offers a defined, firm feel. With a choice of 4 velocity curves and 3 fixed values, you can tailor the keyboard response to your playing style. Special octave buttons let you quickly shift octaves for a wider range. Additionally, the Part 2 buttons can be used for transposing.

The Impact LX Mini supports you in crafting expressive grooves and beats with its 8 velocity-sensitive pads. They provide highly responsive and consistent reaction, ideal for finger drumming. Assignments are done in seconds and can be saved in 4 pad maps for a total of 32 note assignments.

Joystick & Knobs

The joystick combines 4 modulation controls in one: left/right controls pitch bend, the upward axis is preprogrammed for modulation control, and the downward axis is assigned to foot pedal control. The joystick button sends the foot pedal to maximum level. Up, down, and the button can be freely assigned to any MIDI CC# number. Settings are retained even after a power outage.

8 knobs/rotary controls provide direct access to arpeggio, instrument, or MIDI CC# parameters. Instrument, Internal, and Arp/Repeat mode buttons instantly assign the control panel to the corresponding functions. The page button doubles the number of assignments.

Footswitch & Transport

The LX Mini even includes a footswitch jack for connecting a sustain pedal, a feature often missing on mini keyboards. Connect any standard sustain pedal to the 1/8" mini jack (a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter is included). Polarity is automatically detected at startup, and the pedal is freely assignable to any MIDI CC#.

Control any MIDI music software via the LX Mini’s 7 transport buttons. All buttons are MIDI assignable, with the shift button doubling the assignments to 14. With Nektar DAW integration, you get a third control layer for up to 21 functions— all predefined and ready to use.

Arpeggiator & Note Repeat

Two independent arp/repeat engines (one for keys and one for pads) with immediate parameter access inspire exciting synth and percussion lines. After selection and activation, the arp/repeat engine parameters are accessible via the 8 knobs: rate, swing, accent level, interval, tempo, arp modes, and arp octave can be changed in real time. The screen print makes it easy to find the desired parameter.

The page button switches between the keys and pads engine settings, and the buttons next to the pads allow independent activation. This makes it easy to run a hi-hat or percussion pattern on the pads while assigning an arpeggio bassline pattern in double time to the keys—with immediate access to change both. Tempo can be internally or MIDI clocked.

Double Your Performance with Part 2

Part 2 is a unique feature for temporary setup changes: Press one of the dedicated "Part 2" buttons while playing to temporarily shift the octave up or down, transpose, add another octave above, switch to another MIDI channel—or any combination of these functions.

Once you release the buttons, the Impact LX Mini returns to its original settings. Additionally, any note played before pressing "Part 2" continues with the original settings—so you can, for example, play and hold very low bass notes while soloing above. Want to lock your setting? Simply press the second Part 2 button while holding the first. Part 2 lets you play in ways not possible even on larger keyboards!

Nektar DAW Integration: Give Your Mouse a Break

Simply install the Nektar DAW integration package for your DAW and control key tasks directly via the Impact LX Mini’s transport section. Improve your workflows with extended transport control, including "goto/set locators on the fly," navigate tracks and projects, start Windows, or select patches without ever touching the mouse.

Nektar DAW integration currently supports Ableton Live, Bitwig, Cakewalk, Cubase, Digital Performer, FL Studio, GarageBand, Logic Pro X, Mixcraft, Nuendo, Reason, Reaper, and Studio One. A template setup for Pro Tools is also included.

Optimize Your Instruments

How about controlling your virtual instruments like a hardware synthesizer? The LX Mini features a dedicated instrument mode button that switches the knobs in most DAWs to control instrument parameters. We added screen print labels so you can easily remember the assignments: Osc Tune, Level, Mod 1, Mod 2, Cutoff, Resonance, Envelope Amount, and LFO. With the page button, you can assign two parameters per knob, totaling 16. The large volume knob controls channel volume. Parameter assignment is done with Nektar Grab: simply hold "Shift," move a software control, then move the hardware knob—done! In most DAWs, you can save your assignments in maps and recall them later. If Nektar DAW integration is not active, you can use instrument mode for MIDI learn in your DAW.

With the included Bitwig 8-Track, you can produce, perform, and design sounds like a pro from day one. You get access to over 50 software instruments and effects for up to 8 audio or MIDI project tracks—including support for all third-party VST plug-ins you may own. The software comes with the "Bitwig Essentials Package," a versatile, handpicked selection of loops, clips, and samples to help you get started. The combination of LX Mini and Bitwig 8-Track provides a powerful sketchpad for your musical ideas, equipped with Bitwig Studio’s proven workflow.

Sustain Pedal

This pedal fits any electronic keyboard instrument with a 6.35 mm jack. The polarity switch lets you adapt the pedal to your instrument if needed. The cable features a right-angle plug to prevent cable breakage if the piano is placed directly against a wall. Non-slip rubber feet on the bottom ensure a firm grip even on smooth floors.
