Akai MPX8 - Mobile SD Sample Player!
MPX8 is a compact standalone sample player for SD or SDHC cards. Once assigned, you can play the samples on the eight backlit pads with velocity and pressure sensitivity. In the studio, on stage, or as part of a DJ setup, the MPX8 packs Akai Pro technology into a rugged enclosure.
Controller for Software & MIDI Equipment
MPX8 offers both USB MIDI and a standard MIDI In/Out port. That makes the MPX8 equally suitable for controlling software or MIDI hardware. In the latter case the connection is made via the included 3.5 mm-to-MIDI adapter cable.
Convenient Editing
With the included Sample Editor you can prepare sample settings like tuning, reverb and pad assignments easily on a Mac or PC. With simple drag-and-drop, samples are automatically converted into .wav format. Additionally, the MPX8 ships with a free downloadable loop library and internal samples for live performances, studio productions or DJ sets.
