Widiflex USB – Advanced Wireless MIDI for Your Computer

WIDIFLEX USB adds Bluetooth MIDI with ultra-low latency of 3 ms and advanced jitter optimization to all major operating systems. Combined with WIDIFLEX, you can build a wireless high-performance MIDI setup for studio or stage that offers double the speed and four times the range (20 meters / 65 feet) of previous Bluetooth versions. On MacOS, you can of course use the built-in Bluetooth functionality, but adding WIDIFLEX USB reduces the OS’s minimum latency from 7.5 ms to 3 ms.

WIDIFLEX USB features enhanced wireless connectivity for auto-pairing with WIDIFLEX. Pairing other devices is just as easy using the free WIDI app for iOS and Android (available for download in app stores). With it, you can also create and manage WIDI groups of up to 5 Bluetooth MIDI devices. Your settings are saved so that all connections automatically restore the next time you start your system.

Plug and play: Connect WIDIFLEX USB to your computer’s USB port and enjoy Bluetooth MIDI with ultra-low latency without upgrading your PC, tablet, or smartphone. You don’t even need to install drivers because WIDIFLEX USB is USB class-compliant. It uses the MIDI driver built into the OS. Just plug it in, and WIDIFLEX USB appears as a new MIDI port in your DAW software!

When using WIDIFLEX to connect your MIDI devices, simply plug them into their MIDI ports, and they automatically connect to WIDIFLEX USB by default. This also works with BLE MIDI devices, such as a keytar. To set up, edit, and manage these connections, you can use the free WIDI app for iOS and Android.

Create WIDI Groups

Set up WIDI groups of up to 5 Bluetooth MIDI devices with one central WIDI device and up to 4 peripherals across 16 MIDI channels. You can easily do this via the free WIDI app for iOS and Android or with the group auto-learn mode. The WIDI app also lets you save setups for instant recall.

Create Fixed Pairs

You can create fixed pairs when working with multiple wireless MIDI connections simultaneously and run multiple auto-pairing groups from standard memory. So when you reconnect your WIDI devices, these connections automatically restore every time.

About WIDI

Current WIDI products are Bluetooth 5 compatible and conform to the MMA specification for MIDI over Bluetooth. The MIDI over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE MIDI) specification is based on Apple’s implementation (introduced in iOS 8 and OS X 10.10), ensuring early adopter products remain compatible with the industry standard.

WIDI includes a range of smart algorithms like Adaptive Frequency Hopping to optimize performance by always selecting the best frequency for a given distance between devices. With only 3 ms latency between connected WIDI products, MIDI transmits data at the standard speed of 31.25 kBit per second over cables—and WIDI products using Bluetooth 5 achieve up to 400 kBit per second.

WIDI products are 100% MIDI compatible and transmit all MIDI messages over Bluetooth, including MIDI Clock, Long SysEX, and MPE. They provide full bidirectional transmission and reception with dual automation functionality, both as a central unit and as a peripheral.
