The First Accessible Handy Recorder
The Essential series was designed to be accessible for visually impaired users. Acoustic guidance is provided through the built-in speaker or headphones during menu navigation. Creatives can choose from English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, and Chinese languages.
Six Tracks for Perfection
The four XLR/TRS combo inputs feature ultra-clean Zoom preamps, while the included X/Y microphones handle sound pressure levels up to 135 dB, equivalent to a jet engine taking off.
Next Generation 3.0 Capsule System
The H6essential’s 3.0 capsule system has been redesigned to support 32-bit float technology and provide creatives with additional options to use exactly the right microphone for their recordings.
32-Bit Float Recorder
Thanks to 32-bit float technology and dual A/D converter stages, the H6essential delivers an extremely wide dynamic range during recording. This allows users to capture audio perfectly and distortion-free at all times.
XYH-6e Stereo Mic Capsule
Adds two high-quality microphones in an X/Y stereo arrangement. This setup captures signals directly in front of the device with maximum sensitivity and delivers a clean stereo image.
SSH-6e Stereo Shotgun Capsule
The SSH-6e integrates an extremely directional microphone for capturing center signals and a bidirectional microphone for recording the left and right sides. The mid-side stereo image can be adjusted from mono to an extremely wide stereo field. You can record dialogue with the mid microphone and mix in ambient sound captured by the side microphone as needed.
EXH-6e Input Capsule
If you need more inputs, simply attach the EXH-6e capsule with two XLR/TRS combo inputs. You can connect two additional microphones, instruments, or line sources. When powering the capsule via the USB-C port, phantom power can even be supplied. Additionally, there is a 3.5 mm mini jack for connecting line or microphone signals with plug-in power for lavalier microphones.
For Musicians
The H6essential is a portable studio. Mic up to four instruments via the XLR inputs and use the X/Y microphones to record an entire ensemble in impressive stereo quality.
Remove the Microphones
If the X/Y microphone isn’t needed, remove the capsule and use the included cap for a discreet setup.
Record and Stream
Use the H6essential as a 32-bit float interface for your computer or mobile device while simultaneously recording all six tracks to an SD card.
For Filmmakers
32-bit float recording gives filmmakers maximum security on every take. The interchangeable capsules, four XLR inputs, and wireless timecode processing make the H6essential an indispensable tool on any set.
For Podcasters
When everyone wants to join your podcast, the H6essential is well equipped with four XLR inputs. For two additional XLR inputs, the optional EXH-6e capsule can be connected.
Waveform Display
The H6essential offers a waveform display so you can see the audio signal during recording.
Built-in Mixer
For maximum control over your mix, press the "Mixer" button and adjust levels in no time.
Pairing
Using the BTA-1* Bluetooth adapter, you can pair with your iOS device to remotely start recording, adjust the mix, display waveforms, and change other settings.
Timecode Sync
With the BTA-1* Bluetooth adapter, you can also pair with Bluetooth-enabled timecode devices for audio and video synchronization.
Quieter Controls
For even quieter operation and to minimize handling noise, the recording controls and endless knobs have been carefully redesigned.
Internal Speaker
For quick checks, you can listen to your recordings through the improved internal speaker.
Outputs
Connect to a camera via the line output and monitor audio signals through the headphone output.
Improved Display
