8-Track Pocket Studio + Field Recorder + Jam Station!

Here comes the Boss BR-80, the ultimate new recording and jamming tool for guitarists and all other musicians! It's small enough for a jacket pocket, yet contains three devices in one! The BR-80 is a fully equipped 8-track digital studio with an extra stereo drum track and fantastic effects for guitar, bass, vocals and mastering. It is also a field recorder with two built-in, high-quality condenser microphones to capture instant stereo recordings of, for example, rehearsals and concerts in top quality. Thirdly, the BR-80 is an extensive "eBand" jam station with countless playbacks and backing patterns from all musical styles for practicing and jamming.

All three devices can also be combined seamlessly: you can import the stereo recording of a song idea into the 8-track mode to produce a song. After recording all tracks you import your song into eBand mode and can use it as a backing track for gigs.

The Complete Studio

The MTR (Multi-Track Recorder) mode of the BR-80 offers 64 tracks, eight of which can be played back simultaneously. In addition there is a dedicated stereo drum track with a large selection of grooves. The operation is — as you would expect from a Boss BR recorder — simple and intuitive. Thanks to its EQ, reverb and mastering tools plus professional COSM amp and effect modeling for guitar, bass and vocals, the BR-80 is capable of producing complete, professional-sounding productions.

Virtual Band

The eBand mode of the BR-80 lets you play along with favorite songs in an uncomplicated way. With the included eBand "Song List" software you can import CD, MP3 and WAV audio files via USB from a computer. The Center Cancel function can suppress vocals and solos from finished productions so you can sing or play those parts yourself. For effective practice and for isolating solos there is the ability to vary tempo and pitch of audio recordings independently.

Built-In Stereo Microphones

Thanks to the high-quality built-in stereo condenser microphones you can record instantly in first-class quality in Live Rec mode: song ideas, rehearsals, concerts, nature recordings, conferences etc. The recordings can then be imported into the BR-80 MTR mode to use them as the basis for multitrack productions.

High-Quality Multi-Effects

The BR-80 features a DSP processor with a wide selection of professional multi-effects. Combined with more than 40 COSM models of legendary amps, practically any guitar and bass sound can be achieved. A huge selection of presets is ready for immediate use.
Of course it is also possible to edit effect parameters in detail to tailor them exactly to your needs. Special vocal effects based on the popular Boss VE-20 include doubling, harmony effects, pitch correction and more.

Computer Connectivity

For even more flexibility the BR-80 can also be used as a USB audio interface for computer-based recording systems. A Wave Converter software is included for smooth data exchange between the BR-80 and any DAW.
