The RCF SUB 8008-AS is an active subwoofer with two 18" speakers designed for live bands, DJs, clubs, and rental companies. Its advanced drivers feature a powerful ceramic magnet and a 4" voice coil.

The amplifier handles extreme currents up to 4400 W and delivers sound pressure levels up to 137 dB with outstanding headroom. The ultra-fast attack with precise power transfer offers high efficiency with very low heat loss for silent, fanless cooling.

Specifically engineered for demanding live sound applications with clean, powerful bass reproduction. On the rear panel, controls are available for 12 presets, crossover frequency, polarity switch, Deep/Punch selection, cardioid radiation pattern, and output delay.

The tour-ready, rugged wooden enclosure with scratch-resistant polyurea coating is easy to carry and securely mount. Thanks to its robust construction, excellent sound quality, and high output power, the SUB 8008-AS is ideal for medium to large venues and touring applications.

Industry-Leading Subwoofers

The lightweight RCF drivers deliver impressive performance. To ensure maximum reliability and optimal interaction of all components, all drivers were specially developed by RCF engineers in Italy. Thanks to the innovative design, the 1.75-inch voice coil with polyimide Kapton former is ten times more stable than previous models, ensuring more accurate reproduction and improved durability.

The redesigned phase plug guarantees a more transparent sound and less distortion. The special woofer design ensures the system runs more stably under high load, distorts less, and overheats less quickly.

Power That Moves

RCF drivers are continuously optimized — and so are the amplifiers. With 4400 W peak power, the 2-channel Class-D amplifier achieves impressive sound pressure levels with ultra-fast attack and natural transient response at very low heat dissipation. The amplifier is so energy-efficient that it requires no cooling fan.

Instead, it is mounted at the rear of the enclosure on a fixed heat exchanger without moving parts. The stereo signal input path with crossover is optimized for low distortion and features a modern limiter for added safety, preserving the tonal characteristics of the input signal at all levels.

RCF amplifiers comply with maximum safety standards (EN62368-1) and are powered by a highly efficient and ultra-lightweight switching power supply.

Tour-Ready Workhorse

The SUB 8008-AS suits a wide range of live sound applications. The durable multiplex enclosure is easy to transport, stackable, and thanks to its low weight, simple to set up and tear down, supported by ergonomically shaped, rubberized handles on the side panels. Thanks to the M20 threaded flanges for rigging rods on top and the side, the subwoofer can be positioned vertically or horizontally.

The resistant polyurea coating, powder-coated front grille, and robust enclosure withstand the stresses of frequent use and transport. The separate amplifier housing ensures efficient and reliable operation. Acoustic foam lining inside the front grille forms an additional barrier against dust and moisture.

Since the subwoofer features bass reflex ports on the front, it can also be positioned in niches or recesses.
