Active 2-Way Column System with Rich Power!

The NXL 14-A is the most compact active speaker in the professional NXL series. It features two symmetrically arranged 6-inch woofers and the new Precision Transducers 1.75-inch PKX driver on a rotatable TRW waveguide, powered by a 2100-watt 2-channel amplifier. Available in black or white, the NXL 14-A is designed for precision, high power, and easy transport for a wide range of live applications. It’s perfect for speech and vocal reproduction and as a compact live sound system combined with SUB series subwoofers, as well as in immersive systems or as fill speakers.

Power That Moves

The most powerful amplifier in its class. With 2100 W output, the 2-channel Class-D amplifier is 50 percent stronger than its predecessors, delivering impressive sound pressure levels with ultra-fast response and natural transient reproduction at minimal power loss. The NXL amplifier modules are so energy-efficient that they require no fan cooling. The amplifier is mounted in the rear enclosure on a fixed heatsink with no moving parts. The signal input path is designed for minimal distortion and includes a modern limiter for added safety, maintaining the tonal characteristics of the input signal at all levels. All NXL amplifiers comply with maximum safety standards (EN62368-1) and are powered by an ultra-lightweight switching power supply.

Tweeter

The 1.75-inch compression driver features a newly developed dome made of PKX (modified polyetheretherketone). PKX is a stiff, lightweight, colorless organic polymer. This thermoplastic resin is ideal for audio applications due to its unique properties. Developed in the "RCF Precision Transducers" lab and equipped with reinforcement ribs for thin high-performance domes, this new compression driver offers greater precision and reliability.

Woofers

The configuration with two 6-inch neodymium woofers delivers a solid bass foundation. The cone membrane is made of water-resistant, fiber-reinforced material, ensuring durability and consistent sound quality in various environments. The double-rolled fabric surround increases efficiency and overall sound pressure level. Additionally, the hyper-ventilated magnet design provides improved cooling and higher power handling, resulting in clearer and more precise sound reproduction.

Optimal Directionality

The symmetrically aligned transducers ensure coherent sound wave radiation and linear reproduction to guarantee uniform and controlled directivity in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The rotatable waveguide provides precise and consistent coverage with a dispersion angle of 100° x 70°. This special configuration allows excellent control of directivity and significantly enhances speech intelligibility in challenging acoustic environments.

The optimized FiRPHASE technology ensures linear phase even in the lowest frequencies of the subwoofer.

SUB AX subwoofers are available in 15- or 18-inch versions and deliver powerful deep bass (up to 135 dB) with flawless precision through the combination of strong 2200-watt Class-D amplifiers and long-excursion high-performance drivers. With integrated stereo crossovers, 8-band EQ, delays, factory-set crossover presets, color touch panel, and Bluetooth remote control, the SUB AX lets you effortlessly achieve your tailored live sound. The weather-resistant enclosure is made of high-strength plywood and coated with a robust, scratch-resistant polyurea finish. Its slim design offers ultimate flexibility for tight spaces and small stages with extreme power, without blocking critical sightlines. A sturdy powder-coated metal grille protects the front, while an acoustically transparent foam backing inside the grille protects against dust and moisture.

Flexible Rigging

With multiple rigging accessories and the enclosure’s discreet form factor, the NXL 14-A suits a variety of configurations, including hanging, pole, truss, wall, or ceiling mounting at any angle in horizontal or vertical orientation. The rotatable waveguide (and rotating logo) enable perfect dispersion control in any position. Speaker mounting is quick and straightforward. The convenient Quick-Fit socket on the top and bottom of the enclosure allows fast attachment of accessories. No matter how the system is set up, there’s always a place for the NXL 14-A.

Bass Motion Control

To achieve extended bass response and more power, our development team replaced the standard high-pass filter with groundbreaking technology. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), our innovative feature to control woofer excursion. The speaker with BMC handles even the lowest audible frequencies without compromising woofer stability—for a linear, extended bass range and balanced sound.

BMC is an algorithm that comprehensively analyzes the woofer’s dynamic behavior and restricts only excessive excursion based on this specific data. This allows complete freedom in signal reproduction through the driver. Conventional high-pass filters aim to prevent woofer damage but also affect phase behavior. Thanks to the new BMC algorithm, this problem is now history.

A New Perspective on Linearity

RCF speakers are developed based on proprietary advanced FIR filter technology, ensuring a transparent sound image, absolute clarity, and perfect stereo imaging. The special FiRPHASE filters enable uniform sound distribution for all listeners without phase distortion and with minimal latency throughout the system.
