The ART 912-A from RCF delivers innovative technologies and out-of-this-world sound for demanding audio applications. The combination of a 1.75-inch compression driver, a 12-inch woofer, a 2-channel 2100 W amplifier, and a Constant Directivity TrueResistive Waveguide ensures consistent 100° x 60° coverage of the listening area with up to 130 dB SPL distortion-free sound.

As the most versatile active speaker in its class, it also features multiple mounting points for permanent installations. Thanks to RCF-exclusive FiRPHASE and Bass Motion Control algorithms, precisely tuned to each model, your audience experiences absolutely transparent sound reproduction and an extensive, punchy bass range. The sleek polypropylene enclosure is reinforced with an internal M-frame for stability. This makes it easy to transport and allows secure mounting on a stand, flown, on a wall, or a truss using multiple attachment points.

Power That Moves

The most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF transducers are continuously optimized — and so are the amplifiers. With 2100 W output, the ART 9 series’ 2-channel Class-D amplifier is 50 percent more powerful than its predecessors, achieving impressive SPLs with ultra-fast attack and natural transient response while minimizing heat loss. The ART 9 speakers are so energy-efficient they don’t require a cooling fan. Instead, the amplifier is mounted at the rear of the enclosure on a fixed heat exchanger with no moving parts. Physically connected to the internal chassis, the amplifier stays firmly in place. The signal input path is optimized for low distortion and includes an advanced limiter for added protection, preserving the tonal characteristics of the input signal at all levels. All ART 9 amplifiers comply with maximum safety standards (EN62368-1) and are powered by a highly efficient, ultra-lightweight switching power supply.

Stable Enclosure Thanks to M-Frame

The professional look of the ART 9 enclosures is perfect for live events and permanent installations. The sleek polypropylene cabinet is based on a completely new design principle. The front grille, made of extremely durable steel, protects both the transducers and the bass reflex ports. The specially developed M-frame connects the four inner sides of the enclosure and the amplifier to prevent cabinet deformation and ensure outstanding acoustic damping even at extreme levels. The frames also act as a supporting structure to better protect the enclosure against mechanical impacts.

Bass Motion Control

To achieve extended bass response and more power, our development team replaced the standard high-pass filter with a groundbreaking technology. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), our innovative feature for managing woofer excursion. ART 9 speakers with BMC handle even the lowest audible frequencies without compromising woofer stability — delivering a linear, extended bass range and balanced sound.

BMC is an algorithm that comprehensively analyzes the woofer’s dynamic behavior and restricts only excessive excursion based on this specific data. This allows complete freedom in signal reproduction by the transducer. Standard high-pass filters aim to prevent woofer damage but also affect phase behavior. Thanks to the new BMC algorithm, this problem is now history. Combined with FiRPHASE technology, BMC elevates the ART 9 series to a new level of DSP audio performance previously unmatched in this speaker class.

Innovative Electroacoustic Design

The special secret of the ART 9 series lies in the speaker enclosure. The new True Resistive Waveguide combines several technological innovations — both in the transducers and in the special enclosure design with bass reflex port — developed through finite element analyses and extensive measurements in our in-house low-reflection rooms. Thanks to FiRPHASE technology and the novel enclosure construction, this is the happy ending to your search for the perfect sound. The TRW waveguide acoustically simulates a resonance-free resistive load, reducing typical high-frequency distortions caused by the horn. Thanks to asymmetric sound processing, the waveguide ensures consistent coverage and an improved stereo image throughout the listening area.

Top-Quality Transducers

The lightweight RCF drivers deliver impressive performance. To ensure maximum reliability and optimal synergy of all components, all transducers are specially developed by RCF engineers in Italy.

Tweeter: Thanks to the innovative design, the 1.75-inch voice coil with polyimide Kapton dome is ten times more stable than previous models. The newly designed phase plug provides clearer sound, more precise transient response, and better coupling with the woofer.

Woofer: The special woofer design ensures the system runs more stably under high load, distorts less, and doesn’t overheat quickly. RCF takes quality control seriously. The woofers undergo over 200 hours of continuous signal testing to stress the transducers at high levels. Only the best woofer is good enough for ART 9.
