The new EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers were designed specifically for musicians, performers and speakers who demand excellent sonic performance and intuitive operation. Combined with the compact dimensions of the EMX7 and EMX5, users only need speakers and a microphone to create a fully functional, mobile and extremely reliable PA system that supplies all the tools for mixing, processing and routing audio signals — anywhere, anytime.

Powerful, Highly Efficient Class-D Power Amp

The EMX7 and EMX5 models feature a built-in, highly efficient Class-D amplifier and deliver output powers of 2 x 710W and 2 x 630W respectively. Despite their low power consumption and surprisingly light weight, the amps deliver impressive output levels. Both models also include integrated over-voltage protection circuits to ensure long component life and sustained performance.

Rugged, Mobile Construction

With their intuitive, user-friendly layout, the EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers can be set up and operated quickly and easily even with only basic PA knowledge. The versatile chassis design lets users position the power mixer vertically or horizontally depending on the application — for example on a table or on the floor for seated operation.

Comfortable Setup, Easy Operation

The EMX7 and EMX5 benefit from a robust and extremely mobile construction based on a durable, powder-coated metal chassis for long-lasting road use. With the two large carrying handles on the front and back, the EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers are highly portable. The handles also protect the controls and connectors on the operating side from shocks and other stresses during transport.

Comprehensive Inputs and Outputs

Both the EMX7 and EMX5 feature four mono and mono/stereo input channels for up to eight microphones or line sources such as keyboards and mobile players. In addition, Channel 4 offers a direct connection for high-impedance instruments like guitars and basses. Both models also provide two AUX SENDs for monitoring or external effects, an unbalanced REC OUT for connecting an external recording device, and STEREO OUT jack outputs for routing the stereo mix signal.

Speaker Management and Presets (EMX7 Only)

The speaker management function lets users select the optimal settings for the speakers in use. The EMX7 includes specially tailored presets for Yamaha’s range of passive loudspeakers, including the CBR series as well as the Club and installation lines. This optimizes speaker performance and saves setup time. The EMX7’s speaker management also features a Bass Boost function to significantly enhance low-frequency response.

Onboard Feedback Suppression

Few things harm a live performance or speech more than the sudden onset of unwanted feedback. The EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers include integrated feedback suppression based on Yamaha’s unique digital algorithms using a 7-band notch filter to remove annoying feedback instantly at the push of a button.

3-Band Equalizer

Each channel on the EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers features a separate 3-band equalizer with controls for [HIGH], [MID] and [LOW]. Each band can be boosted or cut.

Flex-9 Graphic Equalizer (EMX7 Only)

The EMX7 also includes a Flex-type graphic equalizer (Flex9 GEQ) for selecting and fine-tuning (±15 dB) up to nine frequency bands from a total of 31 available bands.

1-Knob Compressor

Both the EMX7 and EMX5 come equipped with the signature 1-knob compressor found on Yamaha’s popular MGP and MG mixer series. With a single control, users get perfect compression for vocals and instruments. Turning the [COMP] knob to the right adjusts Threshold, Ratio and Output Gain automatically and simultaneously.

Rack Mounting

With the separately available RK-EMX7 rack-mount kit, the EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers can be installed in standard 19" racks.

Extensive, Professional Effects and Signal Processing

Both the EMX7 and EMX5 feature a powerful DSP section offering 24 different effects comparable to Yamaha’s renowned SPX series processors, trusted by professionals worldwide. Reverb and delay effects, for example, let you craft environments ranging from small clubs to concert halls.

Flexible Speaker Connections

The EMX7 and EMX5 power mixers are equipped with speaker outputs for TRS jack and speakON connectors.

Internal Universal Power Supply

The EMX7 and EMX5 include an integrated universal power supply for trouble-free operation anywhere in the world — even in environments prone to power fluctuations. An internal supply also simplifies rack mounting in permanent installations where bulky adapters or extra connections would otherwise be required.
