The KSM8 Dualdyne vocal microphone is the first dynamic microphone equipped with two diaphragms that enable neutral, highly precise vocal reproduction, accurate sound and maximum control of the proximity effect. The patented Dualdyne technology exhibits only marginal proximity effect and minimal off-axis tonal coloration. It was developed for large, complex sound reinforcement. Thanks to its enormous clarity, the KSM8 is ideal for studios, live performances or broadcasts.

Consistent, Natural Vocal Reproduction

Thanks to the second, passive diaphragm, the KSM8 offers a very large sweet spot and only marginal proximity effect. Together with neutral mids and highs this produces a consistent, natural vocal reproduction regardless of the artist's microphone technique. The Dualdyne capsule design consists of two extremely thin diaphragms - one active and one passive - plus an inverted airflow system.

Dual-Diaphragm Technology

The dual-diaphragm technology achieves neutral reproduction of both rear and off-axis sound, making the overall mix noticeably clearer. The patented Diaphragm Stabilization System (DSS) protects the active diaphragm from external mechanical influence.

Manufacturing Processes and Materials

State-of-the-art processes in capsule manufacturing, including ultrasonic and laser welding, ensure maximum mechanical robustness. The use of materials such as neodymium and magnesium inside the microphone capsule optimizes the magnetic field and thus the maximum output voltage. A highly durable microphone grille made of hardened steel and water-repellent foam makes the microphone virtually waterproof and protects against plosives and wind noise.
