Dual Connect Port

Brand new is the "Dual Connect" port at the base – featuring XLR3-M (analog) and USB-C (digital) outputs. The NT1 5th Generation is also a premium USB microphone: with ultra-low-noise high-gain Revolution preamp, audiophile 192 kHz A/D converter, and as a world first, 32-bit floating point audio. Using RØDE’s free streaming/recording software "Connect," you can also access the built-in DSP chip and refine the signal right in the microphone with high-pass filter, noise gate, compressor, and Aphex – an ideal feature for podcasters and streamers.

Extremely Quiet for Premium Sound

With its minimal self-noise of just 4 dBA (world record!), the NT1 5th Generation is also perfect for very quiet instruments, provided you use a quality interface. Or you can use the built-in high-tech preamp/converter and connect directly to your computer via the included USB-C cable. With a maximum SPL of now 142 dB, nothing stands in the way of using the NT1 5th Generation to record guitar and bass amps, mic’d brass instruments, drum overheads, or other very loud sound sources.

Speaking of loud sound sources – the NT1 5th Generation is the world’s first microphone to deliver 32-bit floating point audio. The advantage is clear: as long as you don’t exceed the 142 dB maximum SPL, it’s practically impossible to distort the signal through incorrect gain settings or digital clipping. On the contrary, only with 32-bit floating point can you fully exploit the microphone’s massive dynamic range even during sudden level jumps and later restore flattened peaks in your DAW recordings by normalizing.
