The SM7dB features an integrated, Shure-designed preamp powerful enough to work with any XLR interface. The preamp offers up to +28 dB of gain while preserving the microphone’s frequency response for the best possible sound. To power the preamp, you only need an interface or mixer with +48 V phantom power.

The microphone’s core sound is extremely clear yet present and warm. It’s fully equipped for professional studios or demanding home studios. The integrated swivel mount allows precise positioning with secure hold. The air-sprung shock mount nearly eliminates mechanical transmission.

Although designed for vocals, it’s also popular on some instruments, especially amplified guitars and basses, as well as bass drum and snare.
