RØDE VideoMic Rycote - On-Camera Microphone With Pronounced Directionality
The RØDE VideoMic is a 1/2" interference-tube condenser microphone that delivers professional performance for consumer video cameras and compact audio recorders.
Its Rycote Lyre suspension isolates the VideoMic capsule and prevents handling noise by avoiding direct contact between the microphone body and the mount. The Lyre band is made from robust, virtually wear-free thermoplastic, guaranteeing a secure, rattle-free suspension of the microphone.
The shoe mount on the underside features a 3/8" thread and can be attached to a microphone stand or boom pole. With its supercardioid pattern, the VideoMic captures only sounds originating in front of the capsule—side and background noise are attenuated.
The frequency response spans 40 Hz~20 kHz and can be limited with the 80 Hz high-pass filter when you want to avoid low-frequency interference. The pad switch (PAD, -10 dB or -20 dB) sits in the battery compartment and proves ideal for loud environments like live concerts and motorsports. The RØDE VideoMic is manufactured in Australia and qualifies for a free extension of the RØDE warranty to 10 years.
