Practical Directional Microphone for Android and iOS Devices!
The Rode VideoMic Me-C+ is a compact, just under 8 cm long mono directional microphone that significantly enhances audio quality for audio and video recordings.
It works with all smartphones that have a USB-C port and run Android 12 or newer – and thanks to MFi certification also with an iPhone, provided it has a USB-C port and runs iOS 17 or newer. The VideoMic Me-C+ connects directly to the phone via its built-in USB-C plug – depending on the plug orientation, it records either forward or towards the user.
Records What’s in Focus
The 1/2" microphone capsule of the VideoMic Me-C+ has a pickup angle of 90°. As a mono directional microphone, the VideoMic Me-C+ is primarily recommended for voice recordings, but also for any other sound sources located in front or within the frame. Sound coming from the sides and rear is largely ignored by the VideoMic Me-C+.
Preamplification and digital conversion (24 Bit/48 kHz) are performed with high quality inside the VideoMic Me-C+ itself. The recording signal is transmitted digitally, elegantly bypassing the smartphone’s preamp. The built-in 3.5 mm headphone jack on the back is very practical. If the app allows, you can monitor the recording live, and in any case, it saves you the hassle of switching between microphone and headphones.
Includes Mounting Clip and Windshield
The robust aluminum housing makes the VideoMic Me-C+ resistant to interference, and the scratch-resistant ceramic coating ensures it still looks great after years. The package includes the microphone mounting clip and a Rode WS9 Deluxe windshield, which can be quickly attached for outdoor recordings. The WS9 features a thick foam layer inside and its synthetic fur prevents typical disturbing wind noise up to wind force 5.
