Rode Shotgun Microphone for Camera, Mac, PC, and Smart & iPhones!
The Rode VideoMic GO II Helix is an ultra-lightweight, 12 cm short, and versatile condenser shotgun microphone. The VideoMic GO II can be used with cameras, Mac and PC, as well as smart and iPhones. Operation is incredibly simple: no battery and no controls - pure plug & play.
The sound quality is top-notch - the VideoMic GO II delivers a crystal-clear, completely uncolored sound and features a minimal self-noise of 15 dBA. With its supercardioid polar pattern, the VideoMic GO II focuses tightly (approx. 45 degrees) on signals from the front. Side sound sources are barely picked up.
Rode’s self-developed HELIX Isomount shock mount ensures optimal mechanical decoupling of the microphone, practically eliminating handling noise and other disturbing sounds. The mount’s base integrates a cold shoe adapter for camera mounting as well as a 3/8" thread to attach the microphone to a tripod or boom pole. The audio connection to the camera is made via the included 3.5 mm TRS cable.
With Integrated Audio Interface
The VideoMic GO II features a built-in 24 Bit/48 kHz audio interface. If desired, you can connect the microphone digitally to a Mac, PC, or Android/iOS device via the side USB-C port and a suitable cable (SC15, SC16, SC17, SC18, SC19, SC21, SC22, SC27). Especially practical: the 3.5 mm TRS jack on the microphone can then be used as a headphone output. The VideoMic GO II is officially MFi-certified, allowing operation with iPhones.
For outdoor recordings, a foam windshield is included. (For disturbance-free recordings even in stronger wind, the optional furry windshield WS12 is recommended.)
