RØDE NT1 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone!

RØDE completely redesigned the NT1 from the ground up, expanding its range of large-diaphragm condenser microphones with a sensational, truly distinctive-sounding model. RØDE's founder Peter Freedman challenged his engineers to create a microphone that came as close as possible to the sound of his favourite vintage mic. The result was the NT1 – a new body, new electronics, a new capsule, a perfectly flat frequency response without a presence bump, and an astonishingly low self-noise of just 4.5 dBA!

The aluminium body is first nickel-plated to prevent corrosion. It is then finished with an extremely scratch-resistant ceramic coating. The enamel powder is applied uniformly via an electrostatic process and then baked to cure.

Finally, the labelling is laser-etched. The result: a premium finish that still looks respectable after years of use and—together with the electronics—offers excellent resistance to RF interference.

RØDE developed the "HF6" specifically for the NT1. It is an edge-terminated, gold-sputtered 1" capsule voiced toward a vintage character. Its sound clearly recalls legendary classics, yet it produces far less noise (in fact, almost none).

RØDE also took a new approach to suspension thanks to a collaboration with Rycote – behind the headbasket you'll find a miniature lyre that houses the capsule, which prevents disturbing vibrations from the outset: the NT1 already shows surprisingly good impact-noise isolation even without an external shock mount.

At its high-tech facility near Sydney, RØDE leaves nothing to chance. PCB assembly is fully automated and highly precise, and the electronics' target values are checked meticulously—only this level of care combined with the HF6 capsule delivers the amazingly low self-noise of 4.5 dBA.

The NT1 ships with the deluxe SM6 shock mount, which provides effective isolation from structure-borne vibrations. The SM6 features an integrated fabric pop shield that can be removed if needed, is adjustable on two axes, and can be optimally positioned using its telescopic arm.

A 6 m XLR cable and a dust cover pouch complete the NT1 package. We also recommend you actually use the dust pouch after use! The NT1 is manufactured by RØDE in Australia; registered users receive a 10-year warranty.
