Showlite FLP-144W RGBW Flatline Panel LED Spotlight 144x 10 mm LED

Due to an unavailable power cable (for connecting another spotlight), I unfortunately had to wait almost 8 weeks until I received my package. Unpacked the spotlight, screwed on the two metal brackets attached to the sides (included, the screws with washers are also included), plugged in the cable for the power supply and DMX with XLR connector (Kirstein offers this as a practical interconnect cable). Unpacked the light controller (the "small" LDO-10 MKII FS is perfectly adequate for me) and plugged the composite cable into a Schuko socket and the XLR plug into the corresponding OUT socket of the LDO-10. The power supply unit of the LDO-10 was also plugged into a socket and the light controller switched on. Now it was time to set the channel address of the first spotlight. Set the channel mode on the LDO-10 to DRGBW (= mode 6). This is suitable for the FLP-144W RGBW. Now set the address of the first channel (= slider of the LDO-10) on the back of the spotlight: 0001 and the lightshow can start. Further available addresses can be found on the back of the LDO-10 and of course in the manual.

Nothing can be done wrong (or broken). The plug connections are clear and cannot be connected incorrectly. The FLP-144W RGBW has 144 LEDs installed. These are NOT RGB LEDs but monochrome red, green, blue and white LEDs with a diameter of 10 mm, which are arranged in a ring to provide "illumination". The white LEDs can only be switched on "solo", while the colored LEDs can all be switched on simultaneously by the light controller if necessary.

Another great idea is to loop through both the mains connection (power supply extension) and the XLR extension for the DMX lighting protocol from one spotlight to the next. You should use high-quality cables for the DMX extension (such as those offered by Kirstein) so that the bytes of the DMX protocol with the control information are not corrupted. THAT would cause choas or even "darkness" in the light.

All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. I had no idea about "DMX" beforehand and had to 'educate' myself on the Internet. I therefore wrote to the friendly customer advisors at Kirstein and asked them to take a complete "look" at my order to make sure that I had selected everything correctly. The confirmation came shortly afterwards from a Kirstein employee. THAT is the best customer service. Very commendable.

So, according to the reviews, I thought that this spot is ideal for my purposes. And so it is. Super fast delivery, the brightness is very good but not exaggerated and decorative he is also still. Bought 2 pieces :-)
For my uses, small parties also outdoors as Dj and with our band these spots fit perfectly. With my DMX controllers I can even do some magic.
If our events are larger, I buy me another 2 pieces.
My recommendation I give gladly.

Stable, for party and small stage sufficiently bright spotlight with intense RGB colors and bright white (separate LEDs in the inner circle). The menu settings via the display (no DIP switches) and the DMX control are very good.

As with many spotlights, the sound control via the built-in microphone is too insensitive. Therefore I ordered the small DMX controller from Showlite (LDO-10). With this you can control the first six channels of the fixture (DRGBW control - dimmer, RGB, white), the seventh channel is not accessible with it. But this is sufficient for a music controlled light change. The change is selectable very fast, or with soft fading. The microphone of the built-in DMX controller is also not super sensitive, but the controller can be placed with a long DMX cable then directly in front of the box.

For the party room, the size of the spotlight is a bit oversized, but after all, the many LEDs have to go somewhere. Overall: thumbs up and buy recommendation.

As far as I have tested the part so far, everything works very well. You can also get along almost without instructions. The light output is of course limited at 15 W power consumption, but for small stages it is enough.

I am satisfied.

The price-performance ratio for these headlights is great, the function is impeccable and also everything is packed prima.
