Digital Mixer

B.BEAT includes a digital mixer to manage 24 tracks across 16 separate outputs, 12 inputs and a headphone output for the click*, the mixer return and the backing tracks. The 16 outputs allow the individual tracks that make up the backing tracks to be sent to the front-of-house mixer. Any source can feed a stereo or mono audio signal into the B.Beat via the 12 available inputs. B.Beat also detects the click track and can route it to any of the 16 available outputs and simultaneously to the headphone output*. When the headphone output is activated using the four convenient potentiometers, the musician can balance in real time what they want to hear over the headphones during the performance.

*When the headphone output is activated, two audio channels are used, leaving 14 outputs available.

Audio Interface

In addition, the B.Beat PRO16 includes a true audio interface with 16 outputs and 12 inputs that is compatible with Windows and iOS. Thanks to this interface, a digitally connected PC can be used alongside B.Beat, routing the outputs of the various tracks just like in a DAW. This feature is very useful during soundcheck and rehearsal before transferring the backing tracks directly to B.Beat.

Audio Card

B.Beat PRO16 also functions as a digital 12-channel recorder. The recorded tracks (up to 12) can be automatically added into audio projects. In the PLUS version, recording can also take place while B.Beat PRO16 plays a base playback. After recording is complete, you can decide whether to merge the new tracks into the existing base playback.

B.BeatX On Stage

B.Beat was designed for maximum reliability in LIVE performances. The control panel features a dedicated [LIVE] button that can be pressed at the start of the show so the B.Beat processor ensures maximum performance from that point on without resource loss. This minimizes the risk of unintended crashes and protects the user from operational errors.

B.Beat PRO16 includes a sync system that can be used with auto-switch systems to prevent downtime in the event of a crash.

Two Video Outputs

B.Beat PRO16 features two HDMI video outputs, since a video wall that accompanies musical performances is often required on stage while song lyrics are displayed in prompter mode. Song lyrics can be easily written and synchronized using the B.Beat Manager program. The same applies to sheet music, which can be uploaded as PDFs so each instrument on stage has its own score. The score can be displayed via WiFi on a smart device.

Organize The Performance

B.Beat PRO16 manages individual backing tracks that can be organized into handy playlists or full shows with multiple scenes of different types. Projects can include music, videos and images, as well as MIDI tracks to send messages to the various devices used in a live performance. The philosophy behind B.Beat is to simplify the management of backing tracks and videos during a show. With B.Beat, there’s no need to bring computers, tablets, audio and video cards, cables and mixers onto the stage.

Prepare B.Beat For The Show

Create your backing tracks in your DAW, and once the studio work is finished you can transfer the music to B.Beat PRO16. There is an app called B.Beat Manager that runs on Windows PCs and Macs. Using the Manager you assign outputs to the various tracks and complete editing by setting levels as desired. Once the videos are synchronized with the music, you can load everything onto B.Beat.

Metronome and Click

B.Beat includes its own metronome session. You can control a metronome easily and directly on stage. The metronome's audio click can be output via one of the 16 outputs and simultaneously via the headphone output if configured. The same applies to the click when it is recorded on the backing tracks. If a click track is present in the multitrack backing tracks, it is detected and routed to a separate output and to the headphones.

Song Service App

B.Beat can read MTA-format files (Multitrack Audio) produced and distributed by M-Live via the Song Service website. MTA files are multitrack files that B.Beat can read with 8 stereo tracks. The backing tracks are organized as follows: Track 1 drums, Track 2 bass, Track 3 guitar, Track 4 keyboards, Track 5 orchestra, Track 6 brass, Track 7 click, Track 8 melody. Audio projects with 16 separate stereo tracks are also available and can be freely adapted to B.Beat from any DAW.
