Impressively Clear Sound in Top Quality

The next-generation club sound of the DJM-A9 is based on extensive development and fine-tuning of existing technology from earlier devices as well as brand-new components. The channel inputs feature a high-quality 32-bit A/D converter from ESS Technology for crystal-clear, high-resolution sound. Since the master and booth outputs also use high-quality 32-bit D/A converters from the same brand, you can experience the same sound on the monitors as on the dance floor. Even the sound quality of the microphone input and headphone outputs has been improved through carefully selected new parts and optimized circuitry.

Improved Playability

Thanks to the greater spacing around the EQ knobs, you can turn your fingers more easily, and with high-quality, bright LEDs in the channel section, you can visually monitor levels more easily than ever. The frequency range of the isolators has also been optimized to get the best out of the latest music production trends. This lets you work more dynamically than ever before. And thanks to higher-quality, slimmer channel faders than on the DJM-900NXS2 and the third-generation MAGVEL FADER crossfader, you can mix more sensitively and scratch quickly and confidently.

Sound Color FX with the World’s First Center Lock Knob

When you activate the brand-new Center Lock function and use the popular Sound Color FX, each rotary knob automatically stops at the center position while turning. This means you can spin the knob as fast as you want and fully exploit the effect parameters from minimum to maximum without accidentally applying the opposite parameter. When you disable Center Lock, the Sound Color FX knobs work just like on the DJM-900NXS2.

New Advanced Beat FX

A new color display helps you quickly and accurately see the status of the selected effect, featuring lighting that matches the horizontal layout of the X-Pad, enabling more intuitive control with a simple tap. With the X-Pad, you can vary echo and ping-pong effects to create a unique analog tape-like sound. Additionally, among the total 14 Beat FX, there are 3 new effects (Mobius, Triplet Filter, and Triplet Roll) to make your performances even more unique.

The channel selector is now a dedicated button that lets you quickly apply effects to the selected channel.

Expanded Microphone Section

Thanks to phantom power, you can connect a high-quality condenser microphone directly to the DJM-A9—a feature never seen before on a DJ mixer. There are also 3 new microphone effects (Echo, Pitch, Megaphone) with a special reverb effect so you can change your voice’s sound and hype up or vibe with the crowd through singing.

The brand-new push-to-talk button lets you quickly and easily turn the microphone input on and off when you want to grab the mic and address the audience. The mic’s audio output can be excluded from the recording output if needed. So you can MC for the live audience but record the mix without your voice.

Expanded Connectivity

Thanks to two USB Type-B and Type-C ports (two each), you can connect two different PC/Mac systems simultaneously to enable seamless DJ handovers and back-to-back sets easily. Thanks to the Bluetooth® input, which you can route to any channel on the DJM-A9, audio tracks from other devices like smartphones can be wirelessly transmitted to your gear, letting you use all the mixer’s functions and effects to alter the sound. The multi I/O section has an independent channel selector, so external effects can be used separately from Beat FX because the DJM-A9 offers true send functionality. This means you can route the affected sound from an external unit, e.g., an RMX-1000 or a delay pedal, to a separate channel instead of the channel it originates from.

Two Independent Headphone Outputs and EQ at Booth Output

Simply connect your headphones simultaneously with a second DJ and enjoy the freedom to monitor the desired channels. Thanks to separate cue buttons, volume controls, and mix balance knobs for each headphone, back-to-back sets and DJ changes are now even easier and more comfortable. The 2-band EQ lets you adjust high and low frequencies to complement the master output and match the vibe at the DJ booth to the feeling on the dance floor.

Support for the Brand-New Stagehand App and Integrated Soundcheck Function

The DJM-A9 is compatible with Stagehand, the industry’s first pro DJ LINK remote management app for front-of-house teams. Using an iPad wirelessly connected to the mixer via a LAN router (sold separately), a sound engineer can monitor levels and the DJ’s use of mixer controls, among other things. This makes it easier to optimize sound system settings and deliver a smoother, more impactful show without interrupting the DJ’s performance or needing to approach the DJ booth. (Coming Soon)
