Vocal Synthesis

With the Vocal Synthesis function the instrument generates the sung voice by combining lyrics with a chosen vocal timbre.

The CT-S1000V ships with 100 preset lyric lines so you can start right away. You can also create and save your own lyrics in the companion app. There are 22 preset vocal characters — each with distinctive qualities. The generated vocal can be further edited by adjusting attributes like age, gender, vibrato and much more. A range of additional settings is available to personalize your vocal, including attack times, modulation, effects, an arpeggiator and a retrigger function that produces rapid repetition while a key is held. With the Lyric Creator App you can enter your own lyrics, set detailed pronunciation parameters (for English and Japanese) and build sequences that can be chained into songs. You can even create your own "Vocalist" — a completely new capability not possible with traditional sound engines. Two play modes are provided: Phrase Mode and Note Mode. Phrase Mode is recommended for experimenting and improvising when developing ideas: lyrics are sung in sequence at the set tempo, creating a very natural and intuitive playing experience. In Note Mode the lyrics advance syllable by syllable as you play the keyboard keys.

Effects

The CT-S1000V offers a range of built-in effects — from compressor and phaser to distortion and wah-wah.

For each of the four available effect chains you can choose from 100 DSP effects, and assign them to controllers to change the sound dynamically. Additional system effects such as Reverb, Chorus and Delay are also available. Two independent effect chains can even be applied to two separate sounds. Even when layering two tones or splitting the keyboard, you can apply separate effect chains to each sound. When using the automatic accompaniment, different effects can be applied to the lead part (melody) and the accompaniment part.

Sound

The CT-S1000V's built-in speakers are based on CASIO's advanced horizontal bass reflex system, delivering powerful low-end sound.

The innovative surround-sound function creates a particularly spacious impression. With the Volume-Sync EQ function you can perfectly shape the sound independently of volume — so every frequency range remains clear even at low volume levels.

Sampling

The CT-S1000V can also sample sounds — for example from a smart device. Long samples can be used to play melodies. Short samples are perfect for integrating into a drum set. Long samples can be up to ten seconds, while drum-set samples are limited to three seconds. Sampled sounds can even be processed with DSP effects — a musical voyage of discovery awaits.

Connections

The CT-S1000V offers a range of connection options for use with external devices.

Line-out jacks make it easy to connect to a PA system or other gear for live performances and recording sessions. The built-in speakers can be muted if needed. MIDI-compatible devices can be connected via USB TO HOST (MIDI), allowing the CT-S1000V to function as a MIDI sound source or MIDI controller. The CT-S1000V can even serve as a Bluetooth speaker when paired with your smartphone or tablet. In combination with Casio's companion apps, the instrument can be used for practice, muting melody or accompaniment parts, changing pitch or tempo, or simply playing along.
