Because the Fosi ZD3 has XLR connections in addition to phono, it can be perfectly connected to any stereo system and active speakers. You normally only find high-res streamers with the ESS ES9039Q2M high-end chipset and XLR outputs in a price class from around €1,000. That you can also connect the stereo to a TV via the Fosi ZD3 HDMI ARC input is just the cherry on the cake.

High-Resolution Audio
More streaming services and audio content — from MP3 quality to lossless audio and immersive sound technologies — are available. WiiM devices can play lossless hi-res audio content from Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz and others — and the WiiM Pro is also Roon Ready. It supports audio output up to 192 kHz/24-bit, matching what artists record in the studio. The built-in Texas Instruments DAC delivers high-quality analog output with a 106 dB signal-to-noise ratio and wide dynamic range.
Gapless Playback
Precise, gapless playback is crucial for the listening experience. With accurate gapless playback, timing is guaranteed to match the source exactly. There must be no gaps or overlaps (crossfading) between consecutive tracks. Any interruption in continuous music like live concert recordings or classical pieces would be very noticeable.
Adaptive EQ
Breakthrough listening requires both high-resolution audio content and a high-quality playback device. When the adaptive EQ is enabled, information about the music genre and other tags embedded in the audio are used to adjust the frequency response in real time — whether to capture every detail in the music or to make human voices in a podcast clearer.
Automatic Audio Delay Calibration
The connected receiver or speaker can have different audio latency due to varying hardware, software and DSP processing. To ensure synchronization across systems, automatic measurement of the audio path delay is required. Using the built-in microphone and a proprietary algorithm, the latency of the entire audio path is measured automatically when connected to the receiver or speaker. The latency value is then used to ensure perfect audio sync during wireless multiroom playback with HomePod, Echo, Google Home or other WiiM devices.
